What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

The Core Awakens

Pagogo lets out a loud cry and transforms into its Stellar Form, Terastallizing the 18 Pokemon representatives and encasing them in colored spheres. Pagogo and the Pokemon soar up into the air as the trainers watch from the ground. Spinel simply smirks, "You've left your best players out in the open." he declared before turning to Indi and Rubina. "I want an all-out assault on every one of those Pokemon."

Indi and Rubina nodded, sending out an Electrode and shiny Electrode. "Use Explosion!" they both declared.

Penny immediately stepped into action, "Sylveon, use Reflect and Disarming Voice!"

Sylveon puts up a barrier to protect the other Pokemon and bounces back both Electrode, she's unfortuately caught in the blast of both Explosions. Sylveon faints and Penny recalls her, Pagogo falters as it loses a Tera type.

The Rising Volt Tacklers begin to panic, Friede immediately turns to Ash, "Ash, you've still got Gliscor. You'll have to fly back to the Brave Olivine on your own, do you know if you have a Fairy type Pokemon?"

"Not at Professor Oak or Professor Kukui's..." Ash began to think, desperately in search of an answer. "Oh! I know! Mimey, my mom's Mr. Mime!"

"No need for that, World Monarch!" a voice from above suddenly said. A spotlight revealing Coral, Sidian and Chalce watching from above.

"What do you three think you're doing?" Giovanni asked.

"We not gonna let you boss us around anymore!" Coral declared, "No one takes over the Explorers! And Spinel sucks too!"

Coral sends out her Scream Tail that the trainers recall from their very first battle in Laqua a year ago. "Screamypuff, you're gonna take that Sylveon's place!" Coral revealed the Tera Orb she saved from Tera-Training and Terastallizes Screamypuff into a pure Fairy type. Screamypuff is surronded in a colored orb and soaars with the rest of the representatives, stabilizing Pagogo.

"We shall not be servants to either of you anymore." Chalce said, galring down at Spinel and Giovanni.

"And the Strong Spheres will have no future." Sidian added before glaring at Matori, "And don't think that Gozu guy is gonna help you, he's currently trapped within pounds on salt."

"You'll regret this betrayal once we prevail!" Matori exclaimed before eyeing Jessie and James, "And so shall you."

Spinel simply begins to laugh as Pagogo begins to erase the Laquium crystals on the core. "Of course you;d betray us, of course. People and Pokemon betraying each other is all too common. Friendships and alliances is nothing more than fantasy. I figured even Team Rocket would double cross me. The Strong Spheres are already spreading Laquium across the world, so your efforts have already been declared futile."

"No, they're not!" Liko countered, "Laquium doesn't have to come between people and Pokemon, I'm sure everyone will see it too!"

"And Pokemon and people don't betray each other!" Ash exclaimed, "That's how I was able to become World Monarch, becaused I trusted my Pokemon and they trusted me!"

"Oh, don't be ridiculous." Spinel laughed, his pupils dialating. "I will not let the Laquium Core be erased, even if it'll cost me my life."

Spinel embraces the Laquium cluster as Giovanni watches on with a smirk. "Well, the bonds between Pokemon and trainers may be temporary, once we weaponize Laquium and utilize powerful Pokemon to be under our control. The world shall heel to both Team Rocket and Exceed-"

Giovanni is cut off as Spinel begins laughing manically as the Laquium crystals begin to grow around him and encase him in the core. Spinel's Umbreon lets out a horrified cry and begins to tackle the core in an attempt to free its trainer, which Silver stares as the core sends Umbreon flying back and crashing into a wall.
