What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Ludlow's Homecoming!

The Brave Olivine lands in Olivine City, and the crew split up to search for clues about Entei. The kids and Ludlow try ti hide form the public, as to not have Ash swarmed by fans.

"Hey, Ludlow." Liko asked as they walked, "Isn't the airship named after this place?"

Yep." Ludlow chuckled, "I grew up here."

"Hey Ash," Roy asked, "Did you ever come here on your journey?"

"Oh yeah!" Ash replied, "I still remember my battle with the Gym Leader, Jasmine! I would show you my badge, but It's on my other vest." Ash rubbed his head behind his head as Pikachu chirps sheepishly.

Ludlow and Ash show Liko, Roy and Dot around town, only for all of Ludlow's tour spots to either be removed or replaced by a more modern building like a Rotom Phone shop. Ludlow thankfully isn't upset by this, finding them interesting. Ash tries to introduce them to Jasmine, but finds the Gym closed.

"Guess Jasmine's busy." Ash mused, rubbing his chin.

The group ask around about Entei, with no luck. So they take a break after a while, resting on the beach.

"So, Ludlow," Liko asked, seeing an opportunity, "What made you leave home?"

"Well I was curious to see what Pokemon lied beyond the sea." Ludlow responded, giving Liko the feeling that Ludlow was once like them.

The group spot an old man and his Wooper on a nearby pier, they start to walk to him, planning to ask him about Entei, but they rush into their nearby house. The group runs after them, seeing that he's inside watching a movie. Ludlow exposes himself to join him. They watch "VS Sharpedo" starring the man's favorite actor, Guy Silver. The kids also join the men, and the old man introduces himself as Mamoru and goes into a passionate tangent about all the "VS Sharpedo" movies. Going into detail of how many movies there are. Confusing Ash, Liko and Roy and exasperating Dot.

"But then," Mamoru concluded, "After 'Sports Day of the Dead VS Sharpedo', Guy Silver disappeared from the movie scene and was never seen again."

"Woah-" Ash started, but was cut off by Mamoru "But I just know that he'll return someday, until then, me and Wooper will protect these shores in his and his Quagsire's place."

"Wait a second," Roy realized, looking through photos on his Rotom Phone, "We met the superhero Mighty G a while back, don't they look similar?" Roy shows the photo of Mighty G to everyone. "I think Guy Silver might be Mighty G!"

The group seems to believe this, though Ash eyes Ludlow tense up slightly. Remembering how Wy-Yes's Wynaut reacted when he talked about Ludlow being a superhero in secret, he connected the dots, but kept his mouth shut, not that he had a chance to speak.

Mamoru jumps up at the theory while Ash was in his thoughts "No way!" He shouted. "It's impossible for Ginjirou to grow that old!"

The others stare at them in shock, eyes wide at the declaration. Mamoru even realizes he may have went a bit far, "Hey!" He awkwardly said, "How about I show you folks where the very first 'VS Sharpedo' was filmed, the Whirl Islands!"

"Hey, I remember going to the Whirl Islands!" Ash reflexively piped up.

"Great!" Mamoru replied, "Then you can help me show them around, Mr. World Monarch."

The group arrive on one of the Whirl Islands, Ash tries to show his friends around, but Mamoru distracts them by fanboying over locations featured in the first Sharpedo movie. Floragato notices three Tatsugiri getting trapped in a whirlpool, and alerts the others. The kids send out all their Pokemon to help, but no Pokemon can help. Mamoru's Wooper dives in instead, but it gets caught in the whirlpool. Ludlow tries to sneal away, but Mamoru clings to him, pleading for him to save his Wooper, but Ludlow's Quagsire approches, distracting him. When Mamoru looks, back, Ludlow is gone. Ash notices this too, knowing Mighty G's about to come.

Not even two minutes later, riding on a Sharpedo, is Mighty G. "I knew it." Ash thinks, as Mighty G uses Sharpedo and Quagsire to calm the vortex, freeing the Tatsugiri and Wooper. Mamoru realizes Mighty G is Ginjirou.

Mamoru approches Mighty G, "Y'know, I loved you when you were Guy Silver, but you're still cool."

Mighty G grinned "Much appreciated, my friend."

The two take a photo before Mighty G rides off into the sea where he came, but Ash knows he'll be back soon. Just not as Mighty G. The group sail back to Olivine City, Ash notcing Ludlow holding his back, clearly in pain.

"So, Ludlow," Ash asked, faking cluelessness "You okay? Your back seems to be killing you."

Ludlow jumped, "Oh, I'm quite fine Ash, thank you for asking. Just a little sore from running to get help, did I hear that Mighty G returned?"

"Yeah, he did..." Ash responded, he knew better, he wasn't gonna expose him.

As the sun does down, the group dock at Olivine, being greeted by Friede, Mollie and Orla.

"Where have you five been?" Friede asked

"It's a long story." Said a very tired Dot.

"Did you find anything about Entei?" Asked Liko.

Orla shook her head, defeated, "Nope, nothing."

Mamoru perked up, "Wait, did you say you're looking for an Entei?"

The RVT turn towards him. "Yeah," Mollie answered, "Why, do you know something?"

Mamoru pulled out his Rotom Phone, "A customer meantioned seeing one at a nearby archipelago." Showing the RVT a location on his Phone, "I told some trainers that were walking through town, two boys, I think one of thems an Oak. And when I showed them, the other one said that he'll be one step closer to catching Mew, whatever that means."

Ash's eyes widen, they were here too?! Roy sees his expresson, "Do you know them, Ash?"

"Yeah, don't worry, they're not like Team Rocket, I think they can actually help." Ash quickly said, "They're friends of mine. But, Team Rocket might also show up."

"Then we'll be ready for them." Friede said, sharing a fist bump with Cap, "And that's out next stop!"

Ash nods "It'll be nice to see them again," He says, earning a nod from Pikachu.
