What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

The Knight in the Ruins

Four Pokemon stand on the battlefield. Quaxwell and Tinkatuff on one side, Flareon and Sylveon on the other. Dendra stands in the center while Penny and Dot stand on opposite ends.

"Since Dot isn't as an expericened trainer, let's change up the rules." Dendra declared. "First person to lose a Pokemon loses."

"Sylveon, start things off with Moonblast!"

Sylveon powers up, charging up a powerful Moonblast which is soon blasted toward her opponents.

"Tinkatuff, block it with Brutal Swing!"

Tinkatuff jumps high, hitting the Moonblast like it's a game of baseball. And blasts it right back toward Slyveon, dealing damage and stunning her in place.

"Now Quaxwell, strike with Liquidation!"

Quaxwell is quick on his feet. Striking Sylveon with ease. Right afterward, he starts francially combing his hair. Confusing everyone while Penny smiles.

"Now, Flamethrower and Moonblast on Tinkatuff!"

Both Eeveelutions strike, though Tinkatuff does her best to hold them back. Dot looks over to Quaxwell and still sees him combing his hair.

"What's with Quaxwell?" Roy asked from the stands.

"He reminds me of a Togekiss a friend of mine has." Ash commented.

"Maybe it's Attract?' Nemona theorized.

Back on the field, Sylveon winks to Quaxwell and the opposing Pokemon swoons. Causing Dot to realize the truth. "I got it, Sylveon's ability. Cute Charm! Quaxwell's infatuated!"

"Infatu-what?" Ash asked from the stands.

Tinkatuff shrugs off both moves once the Eeveelutions tire out, looking as Quaxwell is still combing his hair. Rage fills the veins of the little Pokemon, and she strikes Quaxwell hard from the back of the head. Quaxwell looks up, confused.

"I think it wore off!" Dot exclaimed, "Thanks, Tinkatuff!"

Dot pulls out her Tera Orb. "Now, Quaxwell, go viral and sparkle!" She tosses the orb over Quaxwell, Terastallizing it.

Penny pulls out her own Tera Orb. "Slyveon, shine like the fairy you are!" Terastalliing her Sylveon. "Now, Moonblast, full power!"

"Quaxwell, get Tinkatuff in the air!"

Quaxwell grabs Tinkatuff and spins around, tossing Tinkatuff into the air as Moonblast hits the Practicing Pokémon.

"Now, use Slam on the ground!"

Tinkatuff aims her hammer toward the field below. Once she lands, the entire field sakes, throwing both of Penny's Pokemon off-balance.

"Now Liquidation!"

Quaxwell rushes in, Slyveon braces for impact, only for Quaxwell ti turn at the last second and hit Flareon for supereffective damage. Flareon collaspes instantly, fainting right then and there.

"Flareon is unable to battle! Which means the winner is Dot!" Dendra declared.

Dot watches asll her friends approched her, shouting words of praise. Penny and her shake hands before the bell rings. The RVT kids share goodbyes with Nemona, Penny and Dendra as they head back inside while the RVT head back to the Brave Olivine.

Later that afternoon, everyone is gathered in the meeting room. Dot presenting a map of Paldea, with various red spots mapped out. They should be starting, but their new leader isn't here yet.

"Sorry I'm late guys!" Ash delcared as he entered the room, "I was making a new team of Pokemon, so what's going on? And what's that on the wall?"

"This is what Penny gave me while you were battling Nemona." Dot explained. "It has all the Laquium citings across the region, we're just figuring out where to start."
