"Sophie!"
You turn at the sound of Luke's voice, his body at the opposite side of the room as he waves you over.
"One sec," you call back, grabbing a bottle of water from the refreshments table before heading over to Luke.
"How's my girl?" He grins, pulling you towards him and kissing your forehead.
"Im good."
"I'll try not to be too long. The shoot should be an hour or so, then we will go grab something to eat. Sound good?"
"Yeah," he walks away from you as you sit in a chair, watching his talk to a stylist that straightens his hair and clothes before he walks in front of the camera.
"Sophie?"
You turn at the sound of your name again, this time coming from Luke's best friend, Calum.
"Hey, Cal. Shouldn't you be getting ready?" You look over at his choice of clothing. Sweats and vans with a hoodie, not exactly photo shoot worthy.
"Yeah, I'm gonna go last," he starts, sitting down in the seat next to you as you both watch Luke in silence.
You giggle slightly when Luke winks at you, pulling a weird face before the photographer tells him to stop.
"He really loves you," Calum breaks the silence, his voice sad and lonely as he watches Luke pose for the camera.
"I really love him, too."
"Good," he whispers, his voice soft and quiet, and you turn to him.
"What's wrong, Calum?" You inquire, trying to show him he can talk to you if need be. You and Calum have always gotten along, you don't want him to feel left out because you're dating his friend and for it to go awkward.
"Nothing," he mutters, staring at his worn out shoes and pouting out his lower lip.
"Come on," you nudge his arm, trying to catch his attention and encourage him to talk, "we talk all the time. If you've got a problem, tell me."
"It doesn't matter, Sophie," he stands up from his chair, muttering, "I'm needed in wardrobe."
"No," you march after him, grabbing the back of his hoodie when you're finally out of sight and on your own, "don't walk away from me, Cal. Talk to me."
"That's the problem, Sophie. You're the one person I want to talk to, and the last person I can," he fumes and you shake your head in confusion.
"What are you talking about?"
"It doesn't matter," he mutters again, turning away and you pull him harshly back to you, "let me go, Sophie."
"No. Talk to me, damn it!"
"I've just said I can't!"
You hadn't realised how loud you'd both been shouting, had people been nearby, it would have grabbed their attention. Luckily, you was standing in an empty corridor arguing over nothing.
"Calum? We're friends. Just talk to me," you urge, stepping closer to him and placing a hand on his arm in a comforting gesture.
"If I talk to you, you wouldn't want to be my friend anymore," he whispers, eyes going glossy from tears dying to escape, and it causes a lump in your throat.
"Of course I do. I'll always want to be your friend," you softly reply, watching as his face contorts into an expression of pain as you mention your friendship.
"That's the thing, Sophie. I want to be more than just your friend."
"What?"
He closes the distance quickly, his soft lips capturing yours, and you don't even respond with your eyes wide open.
"Please, kiss me," he mutters against your lips, and it's like your body has been overtaken by someone else.
You wind your finger tips into Calum's messy hair, both of your breaths going ragged as he pulls your body closer to his and he deepens the kiss he's clearly been desperate for.
"What the fuck is going on?"
