Permanent Vacation

Pick your boy

Listening to the same drab, over played nonsense on the radio, I flick it over to another station that basically has the same monotonous, bullshit on repeat.
What is becoming of this world? Music with no passion or feeling. Just noise. Really loud noise.
Picking up a guitar, I pluck the strings to make a beautiful tune that I can hum and create a melody with. If only music like mine was given a chance, as opposed to what we hear on the radio stations nowadays. The newer generations need to have a chance to take over, not be influenced by corporations that just want to make money and get by with their boring, standard 9 to 5 routines.
The routine I find myself trying to escape from.
Due to lack of experience and expertise, I can never catch a break.
A high school drop out - no grades, no diploma, no references - I'm not exactly on the top of the "lets give this guy a chance" list.
If anything, I'm shunted to the bottom of the "never gonna happen" pile. Along with many others.
Turning the radio off, I feel my head buzz with annoying noise from what they've played on a continuous loop the past few hours.
I know I can make better. Given the chance, I could make music that could have your heart beating rhythmically in your chest or soothing you to sleep at night when you're restless and your mind is racing.
Much like mine on a daily basis.
But, I still curl up under a thin cover in a small, lonely apartment that I can barely pay the rent on and I'm desperately trying to make a break in something I'm so passionate for.
It's frustrating. It may never happen, but I have the hope and the drive that causes people to judge me as if I need some kind of medication. I don't. I just have a dream and I'm trying to reach for it.
I'm going to do something I can be proud of, something that could come through your speakers and make you want to be a believer. Be more than the under-achiever I am.
Get to my destination of a lifelong, permanent vacation.
