"Babe, grab this box for me!" You yell at Ashton who's wandered off into your new house, leaving you alone at the removal truck with all of the boxes.
"This is so cool!" You hear him gush from inside the house, he sounds far into the house so you huff in exasperation because he's clearly not going to come and help you anytime soon. Bending your knees, you grab a small box with the theory that lighter equal's smaller, you're wrong and the box is too heavy resulting in you dropping it on the floor. When it lands you hear glass breaking and your eyes widen at the sound, unsure of what it could be that you just broke. Ashton steps out of the front door to the house upon hearing the sound, rushing over to you to check you're OK.
"What happened? Are you hurt? You should have waited until I got here, I was only going to be another minute or two. Shit, lets gets you inside and I'll bring everything in, OK?" His words rush out, blending together so you can barely understand his sentences and you stand their dumbfounded at him.
"Ash, calm down. I'm fine. I picked up that box and it was too heavy so I dropped it. Something broke inside of it though." You reassure him, hoping it will relax him and you can both carry on moving everything into your new house.
"Which box was it?" He asks, his brow furrowing as he looks for a sign of anything broken or out of the ordinary before you even respond. You show him to the box you dropped, to see his reaction fall. "Oh, crap."
"What? What is it?" You begin to panic, thinking you'd broken something extremely rare and valuable, yet neither of you owned anything of the sort.
"That had a lamp in, which my mum bought us to congratulate us on buying the house." His hands go into his hair, tugging at the ends clearly in frustration. You bite your lip, not quite sure what to say, sorry not quite being good enough.
"Do you know where she bought it so I can go pick up another?" You ask quietly, breaking the awkward silence between the pair of you. He chuckles and looks at you.
"No, I don't. But it's OK, you wouldn't have liked it anyway so it saves you pretending to break it later on to get rid of it." He jokes, wrapping his arms around your small frame and looking down at you with a large grin on his face.
"I would not do that." You feign shock in his direction. Yes you would do that, but you didn't think he had caught onto it yet. He laughs again, the vibrations rumbling in his chest which you're pressed up against.
"Of course you wouldn't, babe." He winks at you as you shake your head in denial, joining in with his laughter. "Come on then, let's stop dawdling and take everything inside. Actually, I'll take everything inside and you go inside and unpack, sound good?"
"Sounds great. Team work." He presses a quick kiss to your lips and grins at you as he pulls away.
"Let's go team Irwin!" He yells in encouragement, grabbing boxes and taking them into the house as you follow him ready to unpack your belongings to start your lives together.
