Your POV

Late one Saturday afternoon, the slowly setting sun lighting your surroundings as you walked, you went to meet friends at your local coffee shop. The small, classy looking shop was not so far away in the distance and what you could see through the windows made the place look a lot busier than it usually is, considering the time. As you approached the door to enter, live music could be heard from inside. Slowly and quietly opening the door, you went across to the table your friends usually sat in.

In a tucked away corner, two of your friends were seated with an order of drinks already on the table waiting for you. They didn't notice your presence straight away, too busy listening to the music coming from the other side of the shop, which you had yet to see. Quickly acknowledging you, they immediately turned their attention back to a male who was performing.

Due to the low budget of the shop, there was no stage or major set up with equipment or lighting, keeping the whole performance low key. Something that clearly wasn't distracting the customers away from the young man performing for them all. You could hear a rough, melodic voice crooning Ed Sheeran's 'Lego House', along with a single acoustic guitar. Not being able to see who it was performing, you chose to lean back in your chair and close your eyes so you could focus on the voice of the unknown musician.

Several songs go by, all beautifully performed by the mysterious artiste. As his small set comes to a close, he thanks the crowd who have erupted into polite cheers for the entertainer, and you join in to congratulate the man. As the crowd begins to calm down and somewhat disperse, you see blonde quiffed hair come into view on the young man you immediately deem the performer of the evening. He's casually dressed, clearly not taking a performance into consideration as an opportunity to dress up, which you admire. He carefully packs away a guitar into a worn down leather case, slipping on his hoodie and making a grab for his bags.

You don't approach him, just admire him from afar. As he turns around, you get a glimpse of his face. A bright and happy smile that touches his eyes, that are the colour of the ocean and just as bright as the smile he is wearing. He makes his way to the counter, bidding a farewell to the workers and thanking them for their hospitality, before approaching the door to exit.

You see him walk down the street, his guitar case in his hands as he walks away into the distance, not knowing his story but wanting to hear more of the beautiful words that he voices whilst he performs to small crowds in your local coffee shop.
