Luke Imagine (Inspired by Demi Lovato - I hate you, don't leave me)
**Song on the side
"I hate you, Luke. I feel like I can't breathe!" You scream at him at the top of your lungs. "No, don't touch me. I want you to love me-"
"I do love you, Y/N!" He cuts in and screams back with just as much intensity as you.
"But I need you to trust me, Luke!" You fire back at him. You run your hands through your hair in exasperation. The arguing with him is exhausting, you feel confused and scared because you cant decide what to do. "You need to hear me out before jumping to the worst possible scenario. Just hear me out before you run away." As the words are leaving your lips, he's already turned his back, slamming the door shut to your bedroom and leaving, just like you said he would.
Your lips tremble as you try to suppress a sob. You hate him, you don't want him to leave. What a contradiction. You're officially in and out of your head with your own words and thoughts. The tears slowly leak down your face and you don't try to prevent them any longer. You don't wipe your face, you just let them fall down, like a much needed rain shower in a desert like heat.
As you sit down on the edge of your bed, you begin to think about your relationship with Luke. How, when he kisses you, and you're in pieces, you feel completed just by his simple touch. How, no matter how much you love him, you feel it will never be enough. So you can't back down. It's like you're addicted to the madness, you're a lover of the sadness that accompanies this entire relationship you're in.
You're still sat there on your bed, sobs shaking your body, as you try to regain your breathing and stop being so fragile. Like a crystal vase at a child's party, the ability to fall and shatter into a million pieces is there and it could happen at any minute, but it needs to be stopped. He's been gone all but 5 minutes and you cant decide what to do, you're terrified of him but you can't handle another fall out, you need him.
Slowly, you slide from the bed onto the floor and pull your knees up against your chest. Crossing your arms on top of your knees, you rest your forehead against them, covering your face. There's no sound, only silence. You wish he was here, but you want him to be gone. You want him to hold you, but not touch you. You want him to stay with you, but you want him to set you free. You cant help but feel abandoned and scared, you've been here too many times before.
Gently, almost unnoticeable, an arm carefully wraps around your should and pulls you into a muscular chest. His chest. Your fingertips cling onto the material of his shirt, as if he's going to disappear from underneath your touch. His hand softly strokes the skin of your arm and he hushes you to quieten down and that's when you realise the sobs have started raking through your body once again. Your tears dampen the material of his shirt where your face is buried.
"I hate you" You choke out to Luke in between sobs.
"I love you" He whispers back to you, not believing his words you reply through your tears, pulling away from his body and his grip.
"When people love me, they leave me" By this point you're gasping for air, and shaking your head at any words Luke responds with. When you look up at him, you notice his saddened and dull expression. His eyes are glistening in the dim light, proving he's clearly trying to keep his tears at bay. He shakes his head and rubs at his eyes to rid himself of the tears but fails to do so, and slowly, one by one, they begin to drip down his cheeks. He kneels in front of you, breathing heavily, and cradles your face in both of his hands. Using the pads of his thumbs, he gently brushes the tears away that are falling from your eyes and leaves the ones on his own face to fall gracefully.
"I'm not going to listen to a single word you said. I want you to love me, not hate me, but I need YOU to trust me. I trust you with my entire life, I gave you my heart to look after. Why cant you do the same for me?" He pleads to you, whilst staring straight into your eyes, as if they was going to him the answers.
"Because I'm scared" You murmur to him, barely audible, but you know he heard you as he slowly shakes his head from side to side and the sides of his lips turn up in a partial smile.
"You don't need to be scared. I'm here, willing to give you my everything. I wouldn't risk giving you everything with the chances it could all go away. So please, I'm literally on my knees here, begging for you to give me a chance. Give us a chance. Don't hate me, don't leave me. I need you, I love you." His sentence starts off strong before ending in a mere whisper, but you're still captivated by every word that has left those soft, kissable lips of his.
"It hurts, Luke. I can't take this pain, make it go away" You bring yourself up to your knees so your almost at eye level with him, your foreheads press together and the tears are still falling from your eyes. With your voice cracking, you add "I hate you, please love me."
Fisting the material of his shirt with your hands, one of his hands holds onto your waist whilst the other remains holding your cheek, stroking the tears away. He repeatedly hushes you to calm you down, but its of no use, you're still sobbing but no more tears are being produced. Its like you're dried out of them and your body can no longer provide them for you. You inhale deeply, trying to compose yourself, feeling more beyond fragile than you have ever felt before. You slowly open your eyes and all you can see is the ocean blue eyes of the boy in front of you.
You love him, you know you do, but he doesn't. You've been too scared to tell him all this time in case he stopped loving you, or if he never meant any of the words he's said to you. All of your life, you've been making yourself walk around on egg shells, in fear of you getting catapulted into falling in love with someone, so by being careful you thought you could prevent this. Yet here you are, on your knees, holding onto the one thing that makes you want to breathe, the one person that changed your entire perception on love and needing someone.
"I need you, Luke. I know I never say it, but I do and I mean it. I know I'm a lot to handle, I'm hot headed and stubborn and I don't wear my heart on my sleeve like you do but ill try, Luke, ill really try to be the girl you need me to be, the girl you deserve, ill try I promise, I love you." You rush out your words, as if saying them quicker will make it easier and you'll say all the right things by laying all your emotions bare to him.
Before you can even begin to carry on with convincing him, Luke connects his lips to yours, kissing you passionately, your lips immediately respond and your hands fist his clothing pulling him closer to you. He pulls away gasping for air, his lips still lingering near yours, not quite touching but you wish that they was.
"You are the girl I deserve and the girl I need you to be. I never want you to be anything you're not, Y/N. I fell in love with you for who you are, not for who I want." He lightly presses his lips to yours, pulling them away just as quickly as he got there. "I love you, I'm not leaving." He adds before pulling you close again and reconnecting your lips for the third time in as many minutes.
