Walking to your car, your vision is blurred from the tears streaming down your face, leaving warm trails on your frozen cheeks. Getting your keys out of your coat pocket, you fumble for the metal and grasp your cold hands around them, extracting them from your pocket to open the car door. Trying to press the button, your hands are too stiff from the cold and you drop the keys on the floor. Finally, frustration gets to you and you kick your car door whilst bringing your hands to your face so you can cry out loud with muffling the sound.

"Shh, don't cry. Please don't Y/N." A warm voice sooths in your ear, at the same time a pair of strong, protective arms wrap around your body and pulls you tightly against their chest. You can't help yourself from gripping the front of the t-shirt, pulling them closer to you as you sob helplessly into their chest.

Your body is shaking, not just from the cold but from the sobs rolling through your body as you cry. The person holding you, continuously tries to quieten you by whispering comforting words in your ear, as your tears start to slow down. Whoever is holding you, holds you tightly their grip never faltering and you can feel their hot breath on your neck as they talk to you. Even when you try to pull away, the person's arms tighten around you, not letting you out of their grasp.

"Let me go." You whine, trying to get out of their hold, just wanting to get into your car and drive away into the soon to be snow storm. The person finally lets go of you and you see its Ashton, his hazel eyes glossy as they stare back at yours, sad and worried. He's finally put a shirt on, along with shoes, but no coat. He's not shivering or shaking from the cold, he just stand there as if no temperature change can affect him.

"I'm sorry." He whispers quietly, slowly inching towards you whilst you take a step back without even meaning to.

"What for?"

"For everything. For answering that door and having someone else in the place you're supposed to be. For pushing you away every time you tried to get in. For not telling you since day one that 'just friends' isn't enough for me. It never has been and it never will be, no matter how many times I try and deny it. For not doing the thing I've wanted to do since the first moment I saw you and to tell you the one thing I've had on the tip of my tongue for what feels an eternity."

Before you can ask what he means, he closes the gap between you and pulls you as close as possible to him, so that he can bring you into your first kiss together. His lips are soft against yours, creating warmth to radiate from them and spread throughout your body. Tilting your head to the side, you deepen the kiss as your hands reach up to the front of his shirt and you grasp the material in your hands, so tightly he wouldn't be able to leave even if he wanted to.

"I love you, Y/N." He says breathlessly in between kisses, his lips barely leaving yours for a second, as if trying to make up for lost time. He smiles at you, repeatedly whispering his love for you as the snow begins to fall all around you. Not worrying about the cold no more, you let Ashton's arms that are wrapped around your body keep you warm in the snow filled street.
