Walking into my home, I notice things out of place and looking unordinary. Had I left that cup on the sofa chair arm? Surely not. Along with books on the kitchen counter? I highly doubt it. With my body and mind at high alert, I cautiously walk through the lower parts of my house, trying to listen for someone that may be in here other than myself. But, then again, who would break in to move objects around to make me feel like a crazy person?

As I'm walking into the dining room, a wood chair goes flying in front of me, smashing against the wall and I yelp in surprise. I look around for the culprit, but I'm alone. How is this happening? I stumble backwards, making my way into a different room, and stacks of books begin falling from the shelves to the floor.

A wicked cackle echoes around the house and I turn around looking for where it's coming from. It seems to be all around me. I feel my lip tremble, even though it's probably just some horrible prank, and I slowly back away to the door.

The radio turns on, flicking through different stations, but mainly focusing on the static sound that blasts through the speakers. The crackle of the TV coming to life attracts my attention. The screen black, then a fuzzy colour of grey and black as it stays in static mode. The sound is increased on the TV, the crackling of the static causing me to cover my ears, before the picture goes white.

All of the lights go out, the only light coming from the TV screen, and I'm left in partial darkness. I want to run away screaming, but my feet are stuck to the ground. What do I do? How do I leave? What is going on? All of these questions - and more - run through my mind a mile a minute and I'm standing in shock.

A sinister, cold voice sounds through the speakers and I recoil in terror.

"Stay. Don't leave."

Is he talking to me? How? It's a TV. Right? In fear of being wrong, I stay planted to my spot and daren't even breathe too deeply in case I anger him.

"Good."

The TV flickers off, leaving me in complete darkness and scared of my breath. A noise disrupts me from my thoughts, a door opening and closing, the sound dragged out to inject even more fear into me and I whimper quietly to myself.

"Who's there?"

I call out, my voice stronger than I thought it would be, and I'm proud of myself for keeping it together so far. He snickers in the hall, the sound bouncing off the walls, and I back myself against the living room wall.

"Do you really want to know?"

I count the beats of my heart. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Before I answer. Do I want to know? Yes, I do. I want to know who is terrifying me into an early grave.

"Yes."

A lamp switches on, giving a small pool of light, and a dark haired, handsome boy covered in blood is stood close to my face."

"I'm your worst nightmare."

He spits his words out through gritted teeth and I scream loudly. This encourages him further as he grabs my hair and slams my head back against the wall. I groan in pain, falling to the ground and he lowers himself down to my level so that he can whisper in my ear.

"You're going to go like me. I died here, in this very spot, by the hands of another. Now, it's your turn."

I struggle to put up a fight, not wanting to seem weak and definitely not wanting to die, but it's difficult when you're up against the paranormal. He repeats blow after blow against my body, on any inch of skin he can find, and I can hear him grunt in exertion and satisfaction.

I can feel warm blood pooling at the back of my head, smearing down the side of my face, and different parts of my body swelling from the hits. I know I can no longer keep my conscious state, feeling myself slip into an abyss of darkness, all whilst hearing his cruel, demonic laughter filling the room as he gets sweet revenge on the innocent.
