Note: not my picture @_cashton_ on IG for them.

I've been wandering aimlessly for what feels like hours, the sun quickly setting, as I try to find my friends I lost earlier. We agreed to stay in groups, but when I went to use the toilet (hole in the ground), I managed to lose them all and can't seem to find them.

I'm in a dense wooded area, the trees acting as a canopy above me, and there is no sign of wildlife around me like there should be. I stop and stare, trying to find a path that will get me to the edge of the forest and preferably into safety.

The snap of a twig grabs attention and I turn quickly at the sound. I expect it to be a friend, or maybe a small woodland creature, but the beautiful sight in front of me stops my thoughts. A boy of 19, messy colourful hair, and ice white skin stands at the edge of the small clearing I'm standing in. he smiles kindly at me, but the glint in his eyes says something different.

Do I speak? Or do I leave? I have no idea.

"You lost?"

I shakily nod my head, unsure of how I should answer, but I know I shouldn't told the truth as soon as I agree. He will use that to his advantage. His lips curl up into a teeth baring smile, stepping closer to me like a predator and I'm his prey.

"There are bad things in this forest. Scary things. You shouldn't be alone in here."

He says this with amusement, his smile not faltering, like he's trying to threaten me; not warn.

"I'm with friends."

"Where are you friends now?"

"I don't know."

He nods slowly in understanding, his smile widening, and I fear what will happen next. Every step he takes towards me, I take one backwards, and the routine repeats itself.

"I'm glad it was me that found you. No one else."

"Really? Why so?"

Stall him, you're doing good, my subconscious comes into play and eggs me on with what I'm currently doing. It can be used as a good form of distraction as I contemplate a plan to get away.

"I'm the nicest in the pack."

Pack? What?

With a last fleeting glimpse of his sickening grin, he slowly transforms in front of me. His hands elongate into dog like paws, long, black nails stretching from the tips of his once fingers. He forms a snout, the tip of his nose damp like an animals, and his eyes darken further. He is standing on all fours, fur coating his body, and I stand face to face with a wolf. He bares his teeth at me, saliva dripping from his gums to the grassy floor of the forest, and I know I'm doomed.

Even if I run, I won't get very far, he is built for speed and hunting. I'm merely a meal.

"Please. Don't."

I whimper, tears falling down my cheeks as he slowly advances towards me. I repeat the steps backwards and I decide to run with my instincts. I set off into a fast run, careful not to fall over anything on the floor on the forest, and I can feel the damp breath of the wolf on my neck. He tackles me to the ground as I scream in pain and I feel him take the life out of me, his teeth sinking into my flesh and my blood pouring from my veins.
