Pick your boy

Running down the corridors with your 3 best mates is entertaining. All 4 of us are out of breath and yelling for people to "get out of our fucking way" as we rush as fast as we can, weaving in and out of people with our bags falling from our shoulders.
"Flight 0160 from gate 12. This is your last call for boarding."
The tannoy goes off overhead and I shout to hurry the fuck up, jumping over someone's trailing suitcase and running towards the large number 12 at the opposite end of the room.
Grabbing my passport and boarding pass from my pocket, I skid to halt and slam it down on the hostesses desk. She widens her eyes and looks at all 4 of us in shock, our hands on our knees or holding a stitch on our sides - we're all completely out of breath and our chests are heaving as she rips our tickets and ushers us into the plane.
"You're lucky," she grins, closing the door behind us as we all trail slowly through the tunnel and to the open plane door where we're greeted by an air host.
"Evening gentleman," he smiles, forced and perfected like he has to do every day of his life, "welcome aboard Fly Away Flight 0160 to London. Your seats," he quickly looks at our boarding passes before handing them straight back, pointing towards the left side of the plane, "are to the left, all in a row. Have a nice flight."
We stumble down the aisle, apologising for hitting people with our bags as we struggle to get them in the overhead compartments.
We all settle into our seats, sending our last texts to our families to keep them updated and to let them know we will text them when we land.
"First stop, London," one of the lads calls, much to the displeasure of the surrounding passengers, and we all quietly cheer.
"Then, New York."
"Onto Cali."
"Then, right back home again," I end, all of us smiling at each other as we relax into the semi- comfortable seats, "I'm so glad I'm going travelling with you guys."
"Me too."
"Same."
"Ditto."
"Making memories that will never erase," I hum, "I can't wait to see the fucking open ocean in America. Do a bit of surfing."
"No, the cloudy skies of London is where it's at," one of the lads says, I can't see due to my eyes being shut, "can't wait to block out the sunshine with the grey. As miserable as it sounds."
We all chuckle, arguing over the greatest highlight of our travels to come. Whether it's London, New York or California. We all have something we're looking forward to, something away from the pain and misery in our small town.
"Only a few more seconds," I mumble as I look at my watch, our upcoming talk being interrupted by the voice of the captain.
"This is your Captain speaking. Welcome aboard on this clear skied evening, and we hope you all have a safe flight with us this evening," the voice crackles over the speakers and the entire plane listens with interest as he goes over health and safety procedures, "we should arrive in London at approximately 11:22 local time. Please refrain from leaving your seats until the seat belt signs are off, and from all of us here at 'Fly Away' airlines. Have a safe flight."
