The sun was shining down, the sky a crisp, clear blue as you stand waiting outside the VW Campervan you and Calum had hired for the week. You had set off 4 hours previously, journeying south of where you lived, to explore a bit. It was your ‘Road Trip’, so that you could both spend some time together before work came up again, making your personal time together difficult to have.

Resting one foot on the side of the vehicle, you leant against the closed door waiting for Calum who had just gone inside the gas station after filling the vehicle up so that you could both get back on the road. He was taking his time, you huffed impatiently, and looking up to the sun with your shades covering your eyes as you basked in the warmth.

“I thought it a good idea to grab some food for the rest of the journey, seeing as we won’t be arriving until late on and most places will be closed by then.” Calum approaches you, interrupting your stand up sun bathing. You push yourself off the vehicle, meeting him at the back on the Campervan, grinning widely.

“Good idea, I’m starving.” You state, grabbing the bags from his hands whilst he chuckles at your actions. You like food and Calum knows that, always buying extra whenever he goes to the store.

“I’ve got some of your favourites in there however, were running behind schedule so we ought to get a move on.” He orders you, you look over at him to point out the delay was all his fault. He holds his hands up in defence. “OK, OK. I made us run behind, but I’m here now so let’s get a move on.”

You both climb into the Campervan, Calum starting the ignition and pulling out of the gas station and onto the road. Due to you taking all the back roads as opposed to the main ones, they’re practically deserted, meaning you have no delays in your journey.

“If you’re having girl problems, I feel bad for you son. I’ve got 99 problems but a bitch aint one.” Calum says along with the song that comes on shuffle on the speakers, you look over at him dumbfounded not expecting it and being astounded at what follows. “I got the rap patrol on the gat patrol, foes that wanna make sure my caskets closed, rap critics that say he’s Money Cash Hoes, I’m from the hood stupid, what type of facts are those, if you grew up with holes in your Zapatos, you’d celebrate the minute you was having dough, I’m like fuck critics you can kiss my whole asshole, if you don’t like my lyrics you can press fast forward, got beef with radio if I don’t play they show, they don’t play my hits well I don’t give a shit SO, rap mags try and use my” You cut him off from going any further.

“That’s enough of that ‘Cash money’” You joke, laughing as he chuckles driving down the road. “I did not know you could rap.”

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me, babe.” He winks at you, sending you into fits of giggles. He carries on rapping with Jay-Z and you choose to join in, the pair of you rapping lyrics into the sunset on your ‘Road Trip’ journey.
