ALORA
Energised, and over curious since last night's reality movie I got to witness before my eyes... I thought now I will be able to see the clear way.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I was just a few hours late from knowing the truths from this officer- from last night to this morning- but I failed.
Again.
However, he did help me even if it was unintended. The envelope he hid from the other two envelopes that I saw Luciano giving to him.
The intruder took both his envelopes back. As per the details I got last night from none other than the bodyguard- he said Luciano is with the killer, so it means that it was just an act of listening to his demand last night.
And I remember that the previous two envelopes seemed to be thin which clarified that there was less amount of money in them. This particular envelope is much thicker than... even if we combine those two envelopes together.
This envelope in my hand was equally weighted to Luciano's two envelopes combined.
Therefore, this probably was the clue. The wild card in this hide and seek game. It was probably given by someone else to the officer.
According to the...
Suddenly, the sounds of cars screeching and some figures appeared on the window. I glanced at them and saw them coming out of their cars on the other side of the road.
The first order my subconscious mind gave me was to hide the envelope. I quickly inserted the envelope halfway into the back of my jeans and tucked the remaining half inside my shirt.
Luckily, the shirt covered it perfectly.
"Tim, you need to get out of here." I instantly told him. "You can't afford to get caught."
Whether they were here for the murder or something else.
"Both of you leave the house from the back door. Quick." Enzo ordered.
Tim gave a final look at me, then he mouthed, 'Be safe.' I nodded in assurance and then they rushed to the back door in a blink.
I breathed out. I can do this.
They approached the house. I swallowed the dryness in my throat. Enzo slid beside me, holding my hand.
Two of the policemen knocked. I inhaled deeply. His hold tightened.
I blinked.
And they hurried inside, now staring at us while different guns pointed in our direction. My breath catches.
While Enzo stood before me like my own personal shield, perfectly hiding my physical features from their views and those gun points. From the gaps of his arm as he spread it beside to prevent them from getting me. I glanced at the number of policemen before us. There are a total of five of them.
I leaned in to Enzo's back, clutching his clothes for support so I wouldn't collapse.
He tilted his head back to see me, "Could you please lower your guns," I heard him saying them in a firm tone. "My wife is afraid of them."
Oh to be called his wife. It sounds beautiful.
I glanced again, seeing them hesitating before slowly lowering their guns.
Everything went silent.
They must know who they would go against if they don't listen to him. He is the boss, after all. He will rule anywhere.
