ALORA
Noticing us coming out from the night shadow of dark clouds as well as the roof upon us, everyone out there released a breath.
It looked like everything was sorted until then, so people must have figured out that the chaos they were troubled with was actually created by their mutual enemy.
And the enemy was dead. As I anticipated, the numbers of people have increased by now because some of them were taking care of the brutally crushed body that laid on the ground. Even Arthur was here. But he looked like he was going to do things in good ways. I realised that it was done by Vincent Ferrante. He was handling this thing by creating a team who would work as per his wish- to protect the victims which included our team- so that words didn't get to fly through the unheard whispers.
All of a sudden, I felt a sting of pain in my lower back and let out a whimper. Enzo's protective arm tightened around my bruised body while he helped me walk through the gate to the people awaiting for us. I looked forward and finally saw my other friends being somewhere far from the other crowds- while desperately raising their hands, waving at us.
Then, like a miracle in misery, Tim came out from somewhere with Mia to his side. She walked absentmindedly while being covered with Tim's protective muscular arms.
Upon seeing Mia, I sensed Luciano's steps faltering on my other side. At this moment, I realised that he actually needed my help to walk through the remaining darkness to come to light.
I thought Luciano would rush over to her now, however, he didn't move at all. The one who moved and who rushed over to Mia's reach was Galen. Maybe something was holding Luciano back. And I know what it was.
I watched Galen calling out to Mia and hugging her tightly then panicking while searching for any kind of hurt in her body. Moreover, he looked satisfied when Mia, bursting into sobs, hid her face in his chest.
Something happened right then. I saw Enzo pushing Luciano forward a little in order for him to get the courage to move on. Luciano looked back at Enzo, eyes welled up with tears, then at last shifted his gaze to me. So I passed an encouraging smile before reaching for his hand and we walked together.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Luciano taking long breaths every second until we reached the place where Mia was still hugging Galen. When she noticed our presence she raised her head from Galen's chest to take a better look at the man. Only then I removed my hand from Luciano and stepped back only to get held by my man again. I realised Enzo followed us here.
While Luciano stepped forward to Mia, from the opposite side Tim came for me. With a look of immense care and love, Tim wrapped his arms around me.
Meanwhile, Mia hesitated a bit before muttering out a word which I instantly guessed was brother without even hearing it properly. In an instant, Luciano's hopeless face broke into a bright yet tired smile while he nodded yes and let Mia clinging onto himself. Sobs turned into crying. Breathing turned into sniffing. And sorrow changed into happiness.
This was the moment when everything that once seemed impossible happened like it was always meant to. Though it still looked like a dream to me when I held Enzo's warm hands and instantly found a sense of comfort in them. Whereas the people surrounding the two of us- including all our friends and family- they were a beautiful part of my life. The life which I wanted to end, now I wonder, how would I have been getting the chance to witness this peaceful chapter of it if I really ended it before. I couldn't have gotten the chance to see this delightful thing happen.
Here, Davina scanned my face while Sir Vincent talked to Enzo about the earlier incident where we came back from. Then Stella hurriedly approached as well as Betty even though I noticed Uncle William and Aunt Linda were right behind her yet they did not object to this. Good changes in people always bring a good perspective for everything.
I learnt something extraordinary. That life might turn out into something we never expected or we never want to experience, but what if it has the best ending possible awaiting for us even though the thought of it looks impossible. So, if I had to choose between truth and dare then this time I would definitely choose dare and would choose life to surprise me with its miracles.
As I looked back at the man standing beside me like an unmoving pillar, my heart softened at the sight of him. Watching him, I realised that I would surely dare my life to bring Enzo Ferrante for me in every part of it.
After all, if I am fated to grow in this beautiful life then I am sure I will be fated to have someone like him to share it with. Sharing life with a person you adore with your whole heart is the best ending ever.
Surprisingly, Enzo looked at me at the same moment with an eyebrow raised up in amazement.
"This is what you wished for, right?"
I followed his eye gestures and they led me to the current moment when everyone was joining together even with the ones they never connected before. Like Sir Vincent having a talk with Luciano about the things they misunderstood about each other that had happened this past few months while Mia stayed glued to his side.
My lips curled up into a smile as I looked back at him and nodded yes. Everything looked so surreal to me.
Enzo's smile deepened.
"Let's go home. Shall we?" He held my hand.
I nodded.
Nothing could be better than going home in the end after all.
