ALORA

"So this was your plan behind leaving him." Enzo glanced at me with his lips twitched up in amusement.

I was happy to see the pride on his face knowing I am the reason for this.

"I am in love with your smartness too, you know." He winked at me.

Okay. I know this was affecting me... in a good way but we were in between a serious task so I could blush later. Right.

"Focus on the car please." Tim's impatient voice made me flinch and even Enzo seemed to be startled too.

Only then I realised that oh, Tim was also on the task with us. Okay. Yeah, I needed to stay focused on my surroundings.

Without waiting any longer, the three of us hopped in the car. Tim insisted on driving while Enzo sat beside him and I chose to sit behind. Then we watched carefully as the officer hopped inside his car and took it out of the parking area.

Our car was obviously parked in a distance, hidden from his sight because we wouldn't want his attention when we were planning to follow behind him.

My eyes remained on the back of his car, watchful, as he drove all the way to some empty dark alley. Then the car stopped.

Then Enzo also very smartly stopped our car behind some kind of wall beside a store. Darkness remained the same. Not giving any chance to look at the distant figure clearly.

Back at the police station when we were being harsh on him while asking him questions... something came to my head.

Firstly, it was crystal clear that the officer was trying to cover up the real evidence and also trying to not let the truth come out.

So I had to do an act by pretending to leave him out of this matter to make him believe that he didn't have the answers we are looking for. And that's how, here we were.

And there he was. He had come to meet someone whom I assume would probably be the killer. Or someone else related to him.

Will find it out soon.

I watched as the officer stepped out of his car, looking ahead and behind, detecting the area just like the exact opposite of his profession. He seems more like a thief than a police officer.

"Time to follow." The three of us quickly got out of the car.

The officer kept walking on his tracks without caring to look behind. Not that my team was right behind him... we were being careful with every step.

Because one mistake of making a sound and the enemy will trick us with his safeguard mode.

Walking to a darker area from where the number of alleys increased with different paths. They were divided into somewhat like seven different alleys as I saw every one of them darker than the other.

What was this place? There didn't even seem to be any proof of a single being living there.

Suddenly, Enzo's hand prevented me from moving ahead. He then quickly slid me back to the wall beside us while instantly signalling Tim to stay hidden.

I followed his gaze. And the scene in the distance made me blinked rapidly.

Some ticking sounds of more than one clock fell around the area in that same deafening silence. It played like an unstoppable echo.

Tick.

I blinked again and Luciano came out of the darkness, now I could see his face clearly.

Tick.
