Y/N: LOOK, LOONA! D'YOU SEE? D'YOU SEE THAT?!

In childlike wonder, Y/N pointed to the sky, where a flock of seagulls circled before swooping down into the sea, catching fish with precise movements.

Loona, distracted and staring at the crowd of humans celebrating on the beach, barely glanced at the birds. Although the spectacle was uninteresting to her, she let her sister enjoy the moment.

Loona: Oh... yeah. Woah. Super cool.

Loona's listless tone didn't discourage Y/N, who remained absorbed in the seagulls. However, something in the sky caught the attention of the gothic hellhound disguised as a human. The clouds were beginning to turn orange-pink, and the giant fireball was approaching the sea horizon.

Loona: It's getting dark...

Y/N: It's so pretty, isn't it?

But Loona didn't share her enthusiasm. The beauty of the sunset only seemed to accentuate her disappointment. Her eyes returned to the crowd, searching for something—or someone—with growing impatience. Neither Verosika nor... the rest of the team had appeared.

Y/N: Are there still bad guys to catch?

Her younger sister's voice momentarily brought her out of her thoughts. Loona didn't take her eyes off the people, scanning the strangers with a serious expression.

Loona: Quite a few...

Shaking her head, she tried to stifle her frustration and faced the kid.

Loona: Let's get back with the team.

Without hesitation, Y/N nodded and ran towards her family, spreading her arms like wings. Her carefree laughter and movements  —still clumsy due to her human disguise— mimicked the seagulls she'd been watching.

The shadow of a smile tried to appear on Loona's face, but it faded when Y/N turned her back. She took one last look at the group of humans. With a sigh, she followed her little sister.

Y/N ran towards her family, under the dock, her enthusiasm intact as she spotted Moxxie, who was sitting on the sand, meticulously cleaning a gun. Seeing her pass, Moxxie looked up, his frown filled with concern.

Y/N waved cheerfully at him, ignoring her uncle's grave expression. He watched her walk away, his uneasiness growing like a knot in his stomach.

Unable to contain himself, the Imp turned to his wife, searching her face for any sign that she shared his concern. But Millie was completely focused, trying to force a lifeless body into a black bag.

Blitzø, meanwhile, was finishing tying a bloody bag when Y/N approached him, stopping right in front of him.

Blitzø: That's fifteen kills in the bag!

Y/N looked at the garbage bag dripping with blood, her small steps faltering for an instant. For a moment, she was reminded of how dark and brutal her family's job could be. But her attention was quickly diverted as she noticed her father's wide grin directed at her.

Blitzø: Turns out you're a good bait for these bastards, shorty. Good job!

Blitzø's smile dispelled her doubts. Y/N returned the same energy, convinced that what they were doing was the right thing. Her chest filled with pride as she watched her father dust off his hands and drop the bag to the ground. She didn't notice that both Moxxie and Loona were watching the situation with a frown.

Blitzø: I'd like to see that waily snatch orgasm that many-..

Before she could finish her sentence, a shrill voice boomed from a speaker, interrupting the imp with deafening force.
