Y/N carefully lowered herself onto the grass, letting her back rest against the wide trunk of a tree.

The contact pulled a slight grimace from her... but also a quiet sigh of relief.

With some effort, she brought her tail over her lap to take a look.

The moment her fingers brushed it, a sharp pain shot through it again, making her tense. No wonder the climb had felt so off—every step slower, clumsier than it should've been.

It didn't look broken... but it definitely wasn't right.

Still crooked. Stiff.

She frowned, unsure what to make of it.

She didn't know what it meant.
Or how to fix it.

The only thing she could remember was simple— when someone got hurt... you wrapped it.

But...

Her eyes lifted, scanning her surroundings... There was nothing.

The leaves of the tall trees were too small to be useful, and the thick fabric of her dusty protective suit wouldn't tear. Or maybe... it was her claws, already aching from the fight, that just couldn't manage it anymore.

Her gaze dropped again.

Her fingers carefully slid along the tail, trying to soothe the ache. Then, by instinct, she gave it a couple of quick licks.

It didn't help much... but it was something.

Her expression softened, just a little..

She would have to put up with it.

Like a big girl.

She took a and pushed herself up before she could get too comfortable sitting there.

Her body protested immediately.

She stretched out slowly, ignoring the soreness dragging through her limbs.

She licked her lips, her throat dry.

Y/N: Just a little more...

She took a deep breath, steadying herself to keep going.

Then her ears perked at a familiar scent.

Her weapon came up instantly, eyes scanning the area.

But there was no need to search.

CLAP... CLAP... CLAP...

It was coming from above.

Y/N looked up.

There he was.

Perched on a branch right in front of her, wearing that crooked grin.

Blitzø: Well... well... w—AAAHH!!

She didn't wait.

She fired.

The paint round burst against the branch, jolting him off balance.

Blitzø dropped through the foliage, smacking into branches on the way down until he ended up hanging upside down by his tail—face-to-face with her.

Leaves scattered everywhere.

Y/N flinched back, already aiming again.

The Imp, casually nudged the barrel aside with one finger, completely unfazed.

He shot her a disapproving look.

Blitzø: Really? You're just gonna cut me off like that? Oh, sure—Millie gets her big badass entrance, and I don't even get a dramatic build-up?
