Shawn's POV

I woke up with an unknown weight on my body, I looked down to see a black haired girl lying on top of me, her head in the crook of my neck, Old 80's TV shows still playing in the background.

I soon realized that girl was North. I slowly got up and slipped into the kitchen making us both a bowl of cereal and making a quick call to Island Records.

"Okay thank you, I'll see you then" I hung up with the nice lady over the phone. The date was confirmed, I start meeting on Thursday so I had exactly 6 days.

I heard footsteps and turned around to see tired North rubbing her eyes.

"Morning princess" I said kissing her head as she groaned pushing me away, one thing I've learned about her is that she's not a morning person.

"I made you something" I smiled handing her a bowl of warm cereal. She smiled back at me taking it and sitting at our dining table.

"What should we do today?" I asked her.

"We could-" her phone rang interupring her.

"Ugh it's Jay, give me a sec" she said and got up walking upstairs.

I wonder what it is. Hopefully it isn't about the court thing, it can't be. Can it? We've gotten lucky for the past 4 months maybe our time is up. But what if they schedule it after I leave, and she gets taken away. Maybe the tour was a bad idea after all.

calm down shawn, it might not even be the court.

I tried to breathe and cool my anxiety but my mind was wandering.

North walked down the stairs, frowning shaky lips and watery eyes.

"What happened?" I asked her trying to smile. She opened her mouth to speak but all that came out was a sob followed by endless tears.

I ran to her, hugging her, her wet tears stained my shirt. She was hypovenerlating and I rubbed her back playing with the ended of her hair but nothing helped

"What's going on?" I asked her.

"They scheduled the hearing for the day after you leave. And they told us we couldn't dance around it anymore or else child services were going to take me away without a warning" she cried.

"You'll win" I told her.

"No I won't Shawn. There's no way." She sobbed.

"You will. I promise you" I rubbed her back. She cried into my shoulder while I silently prayed that everything would work out.
