The two of you were on your knees, hugging one another. Both of you were crying. Even if you hardly knew who Ann was, you were still saddened.

Benjamin cared for Ann... Maybe even fallen in love with her. You weren't sure, and you most certainly weren't going to ask now. But the way Benjamin had crumbled so easily made your soul shatter. It was too much... How was she still sane?

Something was going on, and you weren't getting the truth from her. Maybe she had family problems?

"(Y/N)..." Benjamin whispered as she sobbed, "I-I... I have to go..."

"Ben." You let go to look at her, "Please stay here." You mumbled, not wanting her to be left alone right now. What if she decided to kill herself too? It hurt to even think about it, but you had managed to resort to the worst scenario.

"I just need some time alone..." Benjamin mumbled, wiping away some of her tear as she stood up.

You glanced around for a moment, trying to find something to say, but before you could even open your mouth Benjamin had turned around and darted down the road. A small sigh escaped your lips and you bit your bottom lip to prevent you from crying.

It was a poor attempt, but you tried, only to fail. Ivy let out a small whine, nudging the side of your face. She seemed a bit oblivious to the situation, but she could sense your negativity.

You weren't too sure how long you were on your knees crying. It had seemed like forever in full honesty... You didn't even react to Sans when he came home. He had asked you a few questions that you couldn't make out until he got annoyed and began to raise his voice.

"(Y/N)." Sans grunted, stomping his boot to gain your attention, "What are you doing?"

You looked up at him, still quivering, "N-nothing... I'm just thinking." You shrug and stand up, looking down at the ground, "I think I'm going crazy." You mumbled under your breath.

Why did you think that monster had something to do with everything?

"What's wrong?" Sans asked, concern washing out his angered tone. You only shrugged at the slightest with a sigh. You shook your head once and then again, "Nothing nothing..." You mumbled. How would you explain that to Sans? What if he yelled or didn't care...?

"Tell the boys I said hi."

The voice echoed in your head and you repeated it quietly. Sans only looked at you in confusion, "Who?" He grumbled, "(Y/N) quit, you're freaking me out."

"He said hi. The monster. He said hi... I think to you, sans, and Papyrus. I don't know..." You whispered and dragged yourself back inside, "Do you know him?" You asked, suddenly growing angry.

Your emotions were constantly being tossed around. Hearing about Ann's sudden death hit you right in the heart, and you could tell that Sans knew who you were talking about.. So he KNEW who this thing was.

"Um no." Sans lied, glancing away as he followed you inside, "Um... You should head to bed, maybe you'll feel better after a nap."

He just didn't want to tell you.

"Don't lie to me!" You screamed, causing Sans to jump back a bit. He didn't look angry or even scared, but just startled slightly at your sudden yelling. He hummed under his breath before letting out a sigh. "Right..." He mumbles, "I shouldn't lie to you, but (Y/N)... I shouldn't tell you either. I don't want to put you in any danger, alright?"

"Isn't it a bit late!? That thing! It's driving me insane! What is it, who is it!? I don't know, but you do and you won't tell me! He's going after Benjamin! He told me!" You yelled, before calming yourself to stare at the ground, piecing a few things together.

Sans had similar features to the monster from your nightmares. The cracked skull, and it was obvious the two knew one another... Possibly related. Maybe they were siblings? Maybe father and son? You weren't too sure, but you only grew more angered. He even owned up to the fact about knowing him... You KNEW that Sans could answer your questions, but he just wasn't doing it.

"Sans," You set your hands on the table, staring down at the wood, breathing uneasily, "I'm only going to ask this once..."

Sans kept his distance. He tried to keep his chill demeanor; however, it was pretty obvious that he was nervous. That only made you more skeptical about him.

"What is his name?" You asked, letting out a small breath, "Answer me, and I won't yell."

"Whoa whoa whoa, sweetheart. Since when did you become head of my hou--" Sans waved his holed hands, only to hold them out once you whipped around.

"I asked you a question!" You screamed. Ivy cowered against the floor, her stomach pressed against the carpet.

Sans stared at you. He was refusing to tell you. Wow. How mature...

You growled under your breath, drawing closer to him. Sans immediately grew nervous and backed away, only to be trapped between you and the wall, "Answer. Me." You hissed.

Sans stared down at you. You could've sworn that his cheekbones were tinted a faint yellow. His gaze darted away from you, finding everything else more interesting, "Gaster. His name's Gaster."

You let out a small sigh and nodded, "Okay... That's all you had to say..." You mumbled, backing down and letting your shoulders drop.

"It's supposed to be the other way around by the way." Sans murmurs and slides away to walk to the kitchen.

You looked over at him with a frown, "What?"

"Never mind." Sans chuckles as he opens the fridge, "So, what did you do while I was gone?"

You only shrug in response, walking over to the couch and plopping down. Ivy jumped up next to you, setting her head in your lap.

Sans looks over at you, shutting the fridge. He can tell that something's bothering you. He's not to sure what to say or do... It's obvious that you were pretty ticked off with him for not telling you Gaster's name right away.

"What's eating you?" Sans suddenly asks, leaning against the counter as he waits for your answer. You sniffle, feeling your emotions gnaw at you again, "It's just Benjamin..." You whispered, "Her crush just committed suicide." Your voice was so weak you were surprised that Sans could hear it.

"And I'm just upset, y'know? And just about an hour ago, Gaster had talked to me. He told me something along the lines of teaching Benjamin a lesson I guess." You mumbled, "Sans... Can Gaster enter anyone's nightmares?"

"He doesn't enter nightmares. He enters the mind. That's what makes them so vivid." Sans mumbles and looks over at you, "He's in your presence when you 'dream' about him. Normally he only does it because he's trying to drain humans of their souls. He's able to make physical contact."

You stared up at the ceiling. Is that what he was doing to you? When you had gone to the hospital.. Was he trying to take your soul?

"It's hard to do, so I'm assuming that he only sees you as entertainment now... You do live with me after all." Sans murmurs, "But as for Benjamin and her friend... I'm sure that he's just messing with you. He just wants you to think he has a lot of power, (Y/N). Don't fall for it. I'm sure he has nothing to do with it."

You nodded a little, but you were far from convinced.

That son of a bitch was responsible and you knew it. (quote Benjamin 2k16)
