When you think about voting for president, you might think everyone that is old enough to vote can vote individually and see how many millions of Americans voted for their best guy for running presidency. If you think there is 320,000,000 votes needed to see the next president of the U.S your wrong. The votes needed is disputed because of population but let's say there are 309,000,000 people in the U.S and 538 votes are needed, why 538? Because that's all the senators in the country (100) and 438 in the House of Representatives. The 538 votes aren't directly aimed at the people but aimed at states. Doesn't matter how many of the people live in the states each state needs 3 votes before going ahead for the rest, the more people a state has the more votes the state gets. In November the people voting aren't telling the nation which person their voting for they're telling their state which person they're voting for so the state can pick the candidate. If a presidential candidate gets 270 votes then he goes straight to the big desk. But we're not finished what about the 10+ million Americans living outside the states? Well they send mail towards the state that they last were living in and basically vote. But there is one problem. The territories. In places like Puerto Rico, Guam, and Northern Mariana Islands you lose your rights to vote which makes the American territories the only place on Earth where you can't vote. As a matter a fact I'm incorrect because American citizens are allowed to vote in space which makes the islands the only place in the universe where you can't vote for president. So an answer for the election system, is broken that's the answer for the election system.
