India and Pakistan, the Batman vs Superman of Asia. For decades India and Pakistan never got along. Why? Well when Great Britain Colonized India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, the large region was divided into states set up by the British. Before Great Britain withdrew from the Indian Sub-Continent in 1947 the leaders of the states had 3 choices join India, join Pakistan, or become independent. They split because of a religious split while India was more Hindu and Pakistan being more Muslim. 2 States became independent Kashmir-Jammu and Hyderabad. Hyderabad had been annexed by India because it was surrounded by India. The people of Kashmir-Jammu was 74% Muslim but Hindu Maharajah Hari Singh as the leader the people wanted to join Pakistan but Maharajah wanted an independent Kashmir. Pakistan was desperate for Kashmir-Jammu because of Maharajah's choice. Pakistan attacked Kashmir-Jammu. Maharajah asked India for help, but India didn't help because Kashmir-Jammu wasn't India so Maharajah accepted Indian sovereignty over Kashmir-Jammu. After years of war India and Pakistan signed a Cease-Fire agreement ending the conflict of Kashmir-Jammu. But war came back when East Pakistan wanted to become the independent country of Bangladesh and India support the Bangladeshi people and East Pakistan became Bangladesh. And ever since India and Pakistan hate each other and are both ready if a war happens again.
