Nazi Germany was a ruthless country but with an idiotic leader whom made the worst decisions that created the downfall of Nazi Germany. One of these idiotic mistakes was Operation Barbarossa a.k.a the Nazi invasion of Soviet Russia. So before explaining the possibility of the Nazis not invading Russia, let's explain why Hitler invaded Russia in the first place. One of Hitler's main reasons for gaining power in Germany in the first place was Russia. He believed the Marxist and Communist Russians were the main blockade for the German Fascists. Originally when France and Great Britain declared war on Nazi Germany, Hitler wanted peace with Britain and France since Hitler wasn't interested in a war with the west. The only thing that Hitler was interested in the west was Alsace-Lorraine, once German land that they stole from France and France took back, but Hitler abandoned the possibility of gaining back Alsace-Lorraine with diplomacy and decided to leave Alsace-Lorraine entirely. So why did Hitler believe invading Russia would be easy if the Russians beat the Chinese, Swedes, the Ottomans and Napoleon mostly by themselves in less than 200 years? Well it's simple. World War I. In World War I the Russian Empire was struggling to defend a German army much smaller than them, and by this time Russia possibly had the most powerful army in the world and France which was far behind in technology, yet was fighting until the end of the war. Well it's simple. In France's front the French got help from Great Britain which the Germans didn't expect to help France at all which kept France in the war longer because of strong Allies and Russia was fighting by themselves against 2 million German soldiers and by this time Russia was in revolution, in addition by this the Ottoman Empire blockaded the Russians which damaged the Russian economy. And also before the Great War, the Russian Empire (remember possibly the strongest in the world at the time) was humiliated by a less powerful Imperial Japan over Manchuria and Korea which belonged to China and well Korea. So because of these failures Hitler believed Russia was a failing power, Hitler even called the Soviet Union "An unstable house" and if anyone kicked down the door the entire building would collapse. So what did Stalin the leader of the Soviet Union say about these words? Nothing. Stalin did absolutely nothing and didn't try to make the border between the Axis and Russia more secure. Why? Stalin was an idiot. Almost every Russian knew that Hitler couldn't be trusted, but Stalin ignored these claims, and still made a deal with the Nazis that everyone in the U.S.S.R knew will be broken. Just because Stalin did nothing doesn't mean he had a plan. Stalin had plan. This plan didn't happen because the event that Stalin feared that would come didn't come at all. This plan was supposed to take action if Hitler invaded Great Britain. Stalin feared that if Nazi Germany could invade France and Great Britain with very little help, he believed this would give the Third Reich too much power and would begin an invasion of the Third Reich. If this did happen the invasion would be a failure as the Russians sucked at offensives until 1943. The Nazis would still invade Russia but they will still be unable to take Moscow. So because of this to Soviets would catch up and be able to invade the Axis before Great Britain and the U.S does possibly before the invasions of North Africa, France, and Italy by the Allies. So everybody knows that the only people that can invade Russia successfully are the Mongols.
