There are some many stupid people out there and there are many ignorant people in history who made the stupidest decisions in history. So let's run down the stupidest decisions in history. Invade Russia in Winter. Napoleon the "the genius" general if France. Unless you count that one time when Napoleon attempted to invade Russia in the winter. Yeah guess how that worked out. Pearl Harbor destruction. The original intention for Japan of destroying Pearl Harbor was to keep the U.S out the war. But it backfires then the U.S joins Britain and the U.S.S.R against the Axis. Also ironically destroying the Empire of Imperial Japan. Declare war on Austria-Hungary. Russia declaring war on Austria-Hungary was a stupid decision as the war was unpopular in Russia and then in 1917 the Russian people revolted ending the Russian Empire and making the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Declare war on Russia. The Ottoman Empire even before WW1 was collapsing so what World War I did to the Ottomans was to speed up it's demise eventually the Empire collapsed for the Republic of Turkey in 1922. Selling Alaska. Russia sold Alaska to the U.S in the late 1800's as a result of this Russia got no profit from the eventual Gold that was found all over Alaska after Russia sold Alaska. Invading Soviet Russia. Once again Hitler invades Soviet Russia in the winter no explanation needed to see why this is stupid. Now the absolute most stupid decision in history was in Sarajevo, 1914. Bosnian-Serb, Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary in 1914 how is this stupid? Well a lot of things well this assassination started World War I and if there was no World Wars then no Soviet Russia, no Nazis, no millions dying, no United Nations. There could be endless possibilities to know what happened if Ferdinand wasn't shot that day.
