Venezuela a country you think about so little, you think it's still part of Colombia. But enough with jokes, now is the time to explain the confusion in Venezuela. The confusing unstable events in Venezuela is possibly the worst economic danger to a country not at war. So how did this crisis happen? Well it's complicated. Ever since the fall of El Gran Colombia, Venezuela had many complicated coups and coup attempts as many people take violent struggles for power. So Venezuelans had to deal with such a corrupt government for years. When former president/dictator Hugo Chavez took power in the 1980's he relied on oil to keep Venezuela rich, of course Chavez used the money for himself and the government instead of improving the benefit of living in Venezuela. This increased inflation in Venezuela making a simple product like a dozen eggs cost $150. Also due to the complete isolation from companies that can support Venezuela in it's crisis groceries are cramped with people and not many products of food such as eggs, meat, and milk. So this means the thousands maybe even millions of Venezuelans have tons of cash but nothing to buy it on. Hugo Chavez of course didn't attempt to fix the inflation and blamed it on the United States and other Western nations. Hugo Chavez was extremely corrupt and well, he named himself a Socialist counterweight of George W. Bush's imperial ambitions. Of course what he said was complete nonsense he still ruled Venezuela until he died of cancer in 2013. And after his death his undemocratically elected handpicked successor Nicolas Madero became the new president of Venezuela. And Madero is doing the same Chavez was doing except struggling to get money because of low prices of oil. Plus Venezuela is struggling to get fresh water as droughts and lack of rain makes most of the water go to Venezuela's capital Caracas and when the water arrives it's polluted. And not that long ago Madero made a Trump styled speech that urged women to reduce the usage of hairdryers to save energy. So will Madero survive? Only time will tell. The Venezuelan people might revolt as another undemocratic election which made Madero's political rival win the presidency but he never went to office as Madero put him down. Madero's army which he needs to protect well you know Madero might have another coup attempt when his army overthrows him and a military officer takes things into his own hands. But remember only time will tell about the survival of Chavez' corrupt government.
