In continuation of my last blog entry, I am proud to announce a special project that I am doing with my husband and the Manhattan Special Victims Unit. We will be working together to spread awareness about child abuse and we will also be giving support to survivors of child abuse. Together we can say 'No more'.
Jayde was at the precinct on her day off to talk with the squad about doing an internet campaign to end child abuse. They decided to film a commercial that would air on all media outlets. Because of the project, she called in a special favor to Steven, Vincent, Anthony, Johnny, and Lily-Rose. She had asked Johnny to call Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter who also agreed to the project. Anthony Rapp had heard about the project and recruited himself, Adam Pascal and Idina Menzel.
Olivia was amazed at the turnout. "I didn't know you knew this many people", she told Jayde who smiled.
Anthony Rapp came up to her and gave her a hug. "I'm so happy that you asked us to do this. It means a lot to be able to do something like this".
"Of course". She then introduced him to Olivia. "You've met Olivia".
Anthony smiled at her. "Yes, its nice to see you again".
Everyone took turns filming a piece for the commercial which would then be edited and put together. Rafael came over to his wife and gave her a kiss. "I can't believe you did this".
"We did this, amor". He smiled. "I want you to meet some people". She took his hand and brought him over to where Anthony, Idina and Adam were standing.
"This is my husband, Rafael. This is Idina Menzel and Adam Pascal". Rafael smiled somewhat star struck. "And you remember, Anthony".
"Of course. It's nice to meet you all. Jayde's talked a lot about you".
Idina laughed. "Only good things I hope".
"Of course".
"This was a great idea. Who decided to do it", Adam asked.
Rafael looked at his wife. "It was all Jayde. I don't think I would be able think of something like this and I definitely don't know this many people".
After talking and thanking them, they went over to Johnny, Steven, Anthony, Vincent, Tim, Lily-Rose and Helena. They were all happy to see her. "Thank you for doing this", Helena told her. "We need to catch up and I would love to meet your children".
"We could do something tonight. We could go out for supper", Jayde suggested. She looked over at Rafael who agreed. "All of us".
Jayde went over to everyone and they all agreed. She left and called around to see who would take a party of 16. It took a few places but she was able to get a reservation at the same Mexican restaurant that she, Rafael and Johnny had gone to. Everyone was hungry but happy and proud of what they did. When they arrived at the restaurant, they went into a back party room and sat down at the table. Jayde sat between Rafael and Vincent.
Vincent held up his glass of water. "I'm making a toast to my girl, Jayde for putting together something like this successfully". Everyone held up their glasses and toasted to her. It was then she started laughing and she turned to Anthony and Adam. "You know what this reminds me of?"Everyone looked at her. "La Vie Boheme".
Adam, Anthony and Idina laughed. "Maybe we should start dancing on the table", Idina suggested. Everyone looked confused. "It's a Rent thing", Idina said.
"Shit. I totally realized that nobody knows each other". Rafael laughed as she introduced everyone. "And this is my squad: our lieutenant Olivia, Fin, Sonny or Sonshine and Amanda".
"Sonshine", Steven asked.
"My full name is Dominick Carisi Jr. but everyone calls me Sonny and Jayde calls me Sonshine".
"Cause you are a ray of Sonshine. For real", Jayde added.
"'For real'", Vincent said.
"I don't even know. Good lord". The entire squad laughed. "If there was ever a reality show, those would be my catch phrases".
Rafael looked at his wife. "How do you know all these people?"
"Steven, Anthony, Vincent are friends with Johnny and Lily-Rose is Johnny's daughter. Adam and Idina are friends with Anthony. So it's kind of friends of friends thing and I grew up with Steven, Vincent and Anthony. Also Tim and Helena are very good friends, like best friends of Johnny. They've done a lot of movies together".
He nodded impressed. "I don't think I know this many people".
Jayde laughed. "Well you stick with me, you'll meet a lot of people".
He smiled then kissed her cheek. Fin saw this and he told them to get a room.
"Fin Tutuola, everyone", she shot back. "He'll be here all night". Everyone laughed at her quick comeback. "Never change, Jayde", he said laughing.
"Hey, let the newlyweds have their moment", Amanda told him.
"You should totally do your accent impressions", Helena told her.
Jayde smiled and put on her English accent to match Helena's. "Should I? Dear lord. I don't think I can. I might need some tea before I can do that. Maybe some biscuits. A drop of wine would be lovely".
"How about your southern accent", Amanda said.
Jayde thought for a second. "My name is Amanda Rollins. I'm a Georgia peach. I've got a little girl named Jesse and she's just a doll. My dog's name is Franny and I love her to death. Also, I might look innocent, but y'all should know not to mess with Georgia".
Amanda nodded. "Y'all".
Steven looked at her. "How about something in Spanish".
She thought again. "Mi nombre es Steven Tyler. Me gusta llamar a Jayde muñeca y querida. Nací en Manhattan. Soy un rockstar de mierda".
Rafael laughed knowing what she said. Everyone looked at her. "I said My name is Steven Tyler. I like to call Jayde doll and darling. I was born in Manhattan. I'm a fucking rockstar".
At the end of the night, Johnny decided to treat everyone. They all told him that he didn't have to, but he insisted. "For Jayde and her friends". Before leaving, everyone said goodbye to each other. Steven, Anthony and Vincent gave her a hug before they left. Johnny came up to her after they left and gave her a hug as well. "Tonight was the most fun I've had in a long time".
"Thank you for coming. Are you going to stay in Manhattan?"
"I can stay for a couple days but then I have to go back to England but I would love to see the kids and meet RJ".
"Of course –"
"Or you could stay with us", Rafael suggested. "We have a couch".
Johnny smiled and tried to protest but decided to join them.
So happy that I have amazing friends who joined me for my project yesterday. We had fun shooting the commercial and then socializing for three hours after. I want to thank Olivia Benson, Amanda Rollins, Fin Tutuola, Sonny Carisi, Rafael Barba, Johnny Depp, Lily-Rose Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Burton, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Idina Menzel, Anthony Pereira, Steven Tallarico, and Vincent Furnier for agreeing to help.
