Rafael looked at his phone and smiled. He had been planning on proposing to Jayde and had texted Johnny asking for permission. He had lost her once before and he would never lose her again. Hey Johnny. I just wanted to ask your permission to marry Jayde again. – Rafael
Hey Rafael. It's fine with me as long as you promise on everything, you will never hurt her. – Johnny
I promise you on everything I have that I will never let her go. I realize what I lost the first time and I will never make that mistake again. – Rafael
Alright. You have my permission. – Johnny
Thank you. I was planning on doing it tonight in front of everyone. – Rafael
Rafael smiled as he prepared what he was going to say. They were meeting Johnny, Vincent, Anthony and the kids after work. Jayde texted him that she was finishing up with some paperwork then she would be over. Rafael made sure he had the ring. Finally Jayde showed up and he went over to her. They said goodbye to Carmen then walked to the pizza place. The kids would be brought over with Johnny. They had been told of the plan but were told not to say anything.
Rafael was nervous as he tried to concentrate. They were waiting outside for a table and he took Jayde away from the conversation. The guys noticed and they watched them. "What are you doing, Rafi?"
He got down. "Jayde, I lost you once and I promise on everything I have that I will never hurt you or leave you ever again. I love you so much. Will you marry me again?"
Jayde got down to his level with tears in her eyes. "Yes!"
He put the ring on her finger then they both got up. Everyone cheered. "I love you so much!"
"I love you, too!"
"Congratulations", Joe told them. "You be good to our girl".
"I will. I promise I will never let her go".
Jayde & Rafael Barba Part II
After everything, we are getting married again.
They sat down at a table and Jayde looked at her ring. Anthony jokingly asked when their wedding was going to be. Before Rafael had a chance to answer, Jayde did it for him. "There's always Vegas". Everyone cracked up. "I think that was the weirdest thing I've ever done".
Johnny nodded laughing. "Never get married in Vegas. No offense, J".
"Hey, it's whatever". He patted her back. "I still remember coming back and everyone on the squad was like 'what the hell?'"
"Who's idea was it, anyway", Vincent asked.
"His".
Johnny shrugged smiling. Santana shook her head. "No!"
"Who's idea was it", Vincent asked her.
"Daddy!"
Everyone laughed. "You weren't even there, Santana", RJ told her.
"Neither were you, RJ!" Kiera looked at him.
"None of us were", Steven told them.
"No", Santana yelled. "Mama!"
Jayde laughed as she picked her daughter up from her high chair. She sat her down on her lap.
The pizza came over to them and they started eating. Santana tried to grab the pieces that were falling off. Johnny offered to take her so she could eat. Santana looked at him and used her little finger to trace his tattoos. She looked at his Jack Sparrow tattoo. "Birdy!"
Johnny looked down at her and laughed. "Do you like that bird?"
She nodded. "Mama!" She pointed to her tattoos and then Johnny's.
"I think she's telling us that we both have tattoos".
Johnny laughed. "Maybe when you're a lot older, you can get a tattoo".
She smiled and took a fork from the table. Johnny watched her as she used the top part of the fork to draw on her skin "She's trying to give herself a tattoo".
Jayde laughed. Santana looked at her and grinned. "I don't think daddy will like me if I bring you home with a tattoo".
Rafael laughed. "Carisi would have my ass".
"Oh my god. I don't know who would be more po'd. Him or Fin"
Rafael laughed and nodded. Johnny looked down at Santana and smiled. "Where did you get the name Santana?"
"We were looking up names that were both Italian and Spanish because Sonny is Italian. Plus we both wanted something gender-neutral so we decided on Santana. We had a middle name picked out in case she was a boy. Since she's a girl, we decided to name her Santana Gabrielle Carisi".
"That's beautiful", Anthony looked at her.
"So we have Steven Vincent Anthony, Kiera Elise, Rafael Eduardo Jr, Lucia Catalina and Santana Gabrielle".
"I get to be named after rockstars", Steven said excitedly.
Everyone laughed. "And you got to go to London", Johnny told him.
He nodded. "That was really cool! I still have the snowglobe in my room!"
"it's literally all he talked about for weeks", Jayde told them.
Her phone went off and she took it out of her jacket pocket. She frowned as she got up. "It might be one of my kids". She went out to the front of the restaurant to answer the phone.
"Hey, honey. What's going on?"
"Can you come over? My dad is really mad and he's yelling really loud".
"I'll be right over. What's your address?" Jayde wrote the address on her hand with a pen she borrowed from a waitress. "Ok. I'll be right there".
She came back and everyone saw the concern on her face. "I'm sorry. I have to go. One of my kids called".
"Go do what you have to", Johnny told her.
When she got to the address, she could hear fighting from outside the apartment building. A police car pulled up. They both went inside the building to the apartment. An officer knocked on the door and a man opened it. His face was red and they saw a woman crying on the floor. "Can I help you with anything?"
"We got a noise complaint and we just wanted to make sure everything was ok".
He nodded. "Everything is fine. Sorry for the trouble".
They could smell alcohol on his breath so they asked him to step out. Once he did, Jayde and another officer went inside. She saw Natalia right away and she went over to her. "Jayde!"
"Hey, honey. What's going on?"
"Daddy came home drunk and he started yelling at mommy".
"Did he hurt your mommy?"
She nodded. "He hit her really hard".
Jayde looked at the officer who bent down to the little girl's level. "We are going to bring you and your mommy to the hospital, ok. We just want to make sure neither of you are hurt".
"Can Jayde come?"
The officer smiled a little. "Of course she can".
Jayde rode a long in the ambulance and she talked to Natalia on the way. Her mother had bruises on her face and Jayde tried to distract Natalia from seeing her mother like that. "What's your favorite animal?"
Natalia smiled a little. "Cats!"
"Really? I like dogs".
"Do you have any dogs?"
Jayde shook her head. "Nope. Not anymore. I used to have two dogs".
"What were their names?"
"Buddy. He was white and then I had Batman. He was black".
Natalia smiled. "I want to get a cat"
"Maybe someday you can get a cat".
Once they got to the hospital, they escorted Natalia and her mother to the ER. Once they got into a room, the officer stopped her. "I just wanted to thank you for distracting the little girl".
Jayde smiled a little. "I didn't want her to see her mother like that".
"Do you have any kids?"
"I have five at home".
"Wow. I can't even imagine doing this then going home every night to five kids".
Jayde nodded. " It's emotionally exhausting but these kids are the reason why I do it".
The officer nodded. "We'll let you know what happens. Go home to your family".
Jayde nodded then left the hospital. She returned to the restaurant and sat back down. "Everything ok?"
"Mother and daughter are at the hospital with two officers. They said they would keep me updated".
Rafael rubbed her back. He would ask her about it later. Once they got home, she collapsed on the bed. Rafael came over and laid down beside her. "It was a domestic violence situation. The mother had facial bruises and the little girl was crying in the corner scared. I spent the entire ride to the hospital trying to district the little girl so she wouldn't have to see her mother like that".
He didn't say anything, he just wrapped her in his arms as tears went down her face. "You did everything you could, Jayde. The officers at the hospital will make sure they're safe". She nodded not saying anything. "I'll get the kids ready for bed". He got up and closed the door behind him.
