Camille's POV
Okay, Camille. You can do this. You can go out there and show everyone what you're made of. You are better than all the girls on the team, don't mean to toot my own horn but...toot toot. Haha, you know what I mean? Wait, why am I saying all this stuff in my head. This isn't helping! Ugh, I'm so distracted! Okay, just breathe.
I took a couple deep breaths, relaxing myself. Today is the big day, the first game of the football season. I'm so ready. But am I really? Yes I am, what am I thinking?
"BABE, DONT WANNA BE LATE!" Cheryl shook me out of my thoughts. I put on the knee-high socks and shinguards. I put on the bright blue cleats our team have to wear and dashed out of my bedroom. My cleats clicked against the floor all the way down the stairs.
"Hey, I like the look." Kimberley looked me up and down at our bright blue uniforms. We had the jersey, I was number 13 (my favorite) and the shorts were white with blue stripes. I didn't have any makeup on and my long hair was tied back into a curly ponytail. I didn't have time to undo my curls from yesterday.
"Haha, very funny." I gave Kimba the sarastic face, also known as the 'squinted-eyebrows-rolled-eyes-and-pursed-lips' face. She laughed in return and pulled me into her side, kissing my temple.
"You always look beautiful, sweetheart." I smiled up at her. Cheryl walked down the stairs, she was looking quite good for a 10 AM football game.
Cheryl was wearing rolled up skinny jeans with black heels. She matched the bottom half of her body with a loose grey t-shirt and her hair was curled to perfection. Her makeup also didn't make me feel any better about myself either.
"Let's go, you lot!" We hurried to the car, already running a few minutes late.

We had arrived at the stadium, there was a pretty big crowd, but local people went crazy over these games! There's so many people that teams get reserved spots so they don't have to park far away.
"Go on in! And do a good job, we'll be watching and cheering for you!" I could already see Cheryl's Geordie coming out and watching her scream at the top of her lungs.
"We'll see you afterwards!" Kimberley said over the loud noises coming from the inside. They both kissed my cheek and I ran off. I saw Spencer on the way in.
"Spence!"
"Hey!" We hugged and walked into the locker room.
"Are you nervous?" She asked, I couldn't see any nerves in her eyes.
"Hell yeah, this is my chance to show my mums' that I'm good at what I do. I want them to be proud, especially since this whole living situation is new." I only cursed around my friends, I don't want Kimba and Cheryl to know I speak with such foul language. Spencer knew everything about the whole situation. I called her the night I moved in and told her what Kimba said, she gave me such good advice and encouraged me a lot.
"They'll always be proud of you! They love you, I can tell. When they watched you at practice they never stopped smiling!" Spencer chuckled at them, they always have those goofy smiles on.
"You saw them that day?"
"Yeah, I didn't tell you because I didn't know they were your mums' at the time." I look at myself then and now, I'm so much happier. Because I do, I do love them. But I'm not ready to say it...not yet.
"Ready?" I lifted my hand for a high-five. We slapped hands and walked out of the locker room.
"Ready." We put our game faces on and walked onto the field, joining the other girls.
"Alright, you know your places and what to do! All you have to think about now is where the ball is and how to get to it, okay?!" Coach Rutherford yelled at us, but deep down he was a sweetheart. We all knew that, but we took him seriously anyway.
"Alright girls, let's do it! Ready? 1..2..3..LONDON!" We put our hands in the middle of the circle and yelled the mini cheer we had. London was our team name because the other divisions are from other towns.
I stepped onto the field, ready to go. I looked at the ball which was sat in the middle of the field. The crowd was going crazy. After a couple seconds the ball was in the air and everyone is running around. I ran to the middle, getting a pass from Spencer. She smiled at me which gave me the signal to go for the goal.
I was so close to the goal, but once I lifted my leg to shoot, another girl on the opposing team kicked me right below the knee.
"Merde! (Shit!)" I haven't felt pain like this in forever. She cleated me right below the knee and blood immediately drew from my leg.
"Come on! Play fair!" Ferne shouted at the girl, helping me up. I got up and didn't even mind wiping the blood away, if she wants to play, we'll play.
I looked at the stands, Cheryl and Kimberley had so much worry in their face. I smiled at them which brought their bright faces back into view. They jumped up and down cheering, I just shook my head and smiled at the ground.
"Looking at Mummy? Huh?" The girl who cleated me pushed me, almost shoving me to the ground.
"Hey! I don't play like that, come on don't be a bitch." She looked at me with fury but I didn't cave. I kept my game face on and walked away.
"Hey, don't worry about her. She never plays fair." Olivia said to me, I flashed her a smile and went back to the centre field.
I took the ball and ran all the way up the field coach yelling at me to keep going. I did as I was told and ran up to the goal. The girl who shoved me came into view, her legs spread apart, this will show her.
I kicked the ball between her legs and took it past her. I threw my leg in the air, kicking the ball to the very corner of the goal. It went in and everyone was on their feet.
"YEAHHHHH!" All the girls on my team came over and entrapped me into a huge group hug.
I looked at Cheryl and Kimba who were jumping out of their seats, smiling at me. Cheryl was screaming 'that's me daughter!' to the people around her. I laughed and smiled more than I ever have before.
The scoreboard buzzer went off, signaling we had won the game one to none.
I went to the locker room as Coach R. said some motivational speech. I dashed out of the locker room - seeing Cheryl and Kimba. I ran into their arms even though I was a sweaty mess.
"We're so proud of you, sweetheart!" Kimberley kissed my sweaty forehead, as did Cheryl.
"Proud is an understatement!" Cheryl screamed, I laughed at their smiles. I wanted nothing more than to make them this proud all the time.
We made our way home and I took a shower. We settled on having our own celebration tonight. We stayed in and watched a couple films and ate sweets all night. I went up to bed that night, smiling. I was having the time of my life, and I never wanted it to end.
