Author's POV

Camille stepped out of Capron's car and watched him drive away. She knew that if he stayed, he would only get yelled at by her mothers. She understands their protectiveness, but sometimes it's too much.

"There you are!" Cheryl jumped off of Kimberley's lap and ran down the porch steps. She went up to her daughter and put her hands on her cheeks.

"Are you hurt?! Who was that? Are you okay?" Cheryl spat endless questions to Camille until she responded.

"I'm fine, Mam. I'm okay." She groaned, not wanting to answer the questions right now.

"Why were you gone so long? Who were you with?" Cheryl asked, looking Camille right in the eye. The gaze made Camille look away. She can't look into the eyes of her mother and lie.

"Can we talk about it later?" Camille looked through the kitchen window and saw her family inside. She didn't want to discuss this in front of all of them.

"Promise you will?" Kimberley sighed as she followed Camille's eye-line.

"Promise."

"Is it bad?" Cheryl asked, worrying about her little girl.

"No, no it's not." Camille shook her head in disbelief. She can't grasp the idea that her parents think she does bad things. She knows that her previous records aren't great, but it bothers her in some way. Camille only wants to have her mother's full trust.

"Let's get you inside." Cheryl said to Camille and wrapped her arm around her shoulders.

The three girls walked back inside and were met by their big family. They joined in on their laughs and chats before they started to make dinner.

"Camille, why don't you come help us in the kitchen, tonight?" Amy held out her hand for Camille to take to help her out with making dinner.

"Sure." Camille took her Auntie's hand and went into the kitchen with her, Sally, Kimberley, Diane, Joan, Gillian, Natalie, and Cheryl. Cheryl doesn't really help out, but she does what she can.

"You can either help Kim with the chicken or me with the salad." Sally looked at Camille and smiled when Camille walked towards her.

"Hey!" Kimberley looked shocked that Camille chose her older sister over her.

"It's easier. You can't blame me!" Camille defended herself and giggled along with the other women. Kimberley just went on to make her famous grilled chicken and stuck her tongue out at Camille. She let out a wholehearted giggle when Camille showed her her tongue in return.

Cheryl smiled at her two girls who are silently poking fun at each other. She loves her two girls with her whole heart and loves how close they are. Their relationship is so silly, yet filled with so much love.

They all had their own little parts to do, even Cheryl - who can't cook to save her life. They chatted and gossiped about everything, Camille just listened in to their work drama letting out a gasp every now and then. She definitely isn't looking forward to growing up and having these problems.

"Good job." Sally said to Camille, making her zone out of the ladies gossiping.  Camille smiled at her Auntie and put the salad on the dining room table for her.

"Bubba." Cheryl pulled Camille's arm before she walked back over to the other women.  She pulled Camille in front of her and wrapped her arms around her.

"What's this for?" Camille asked, knowing that they're not on the greatest terms at the moment.  They still haven't had the 'discussion' yet.
