Camille's POV

Game day.  Time to step out on the field and give it everything I have.  Today talent scouts are coming to the game, although I'm not too interested.  They ask you to come join their school, which obviously isn't on my to-do list.

Our team has to look good as a whole for someone to be called, so we all have to be spot on.  Coach won't stop going on and on about how important this is for us.

In fact, Coach R is talking right now and I'm not even listening.  Before a game, I go into this zone.  The zone of no return, the zone of go big or go home, the zone of competition.

"So let's go out there and SMASH it, girls!" We all put our hands in the circle as Ferne counts down.

"3...2...1...!"

"LONDON!" We all cheered and ran out of the locker room and onto the field.

The crowd cheered as each team walked on the field, making us all buzz. We walked to our bench and started jumping, stretching, anything to get us pumped up.

"Alright. We've got TW in center-" I blocked out everything else he said and walked to center field.  The rest of the team found their spots as the whistles squeak.

Author's POV

Everyone is hyped up for this game.  London vs. Manchester is one of the biggest games in this league.  The crowd gets angry, the players get rough, the coaches get serious.

"Ready?" The referee looks at Camille and the Manchester opponent in center.  They both nod, Camille is completely in the zone.

"Scared?" Camille's opponent mocks a babies voice, angering Camille.

Camille just rolls her eyes at the girl and sees the ball in the center.

"Coin flip." Camille's opponent takes the coin, calling her side..

"Tails." The opponent flips the coin and it's heads.

"Unlucky?" The girl stares Camille down, but it doesn't phase her.

Kimberley and Cheryl are standing in the bleachers of the huge stadium, they see the bickering of the girls.  Cheryl laughs at her daughters bravery and toughness.

"That's me girl." Kimberley smiles at Cheryl, they're so proud of their daughter.

"Hey, did you notice that?" Kimberley points at Camille.

"Notice what, babe?" Cheryl looks at Camille confused.

"Her jersey, she's changed her name." Cheryl looks at Camille's jersey seeing the big '13' and her last name above that.  'Tweedy-Walsh' is written in all caps on her daughters upper back.

Cheryl and Kimberley smile at each other and share a kiss.  They can't help but fall in love with their little family they've been fortunate enough to fall upon.

The rush of adrenaline kicks Camille's bones, making her kick the ball back to her teammates. She runs around, watching the balls every move.

It's half-time and the score is still 0-0. Camille kicks herself for allowing them to stop her shots. She's angry with how disappointing her game is going.

Camille looks into the stands, seeing Cheryl and Kimberley. She instantly locks eyes with them, she sees them jump up and down.

Camille waves at her parents, not embarrassed by them one bit.

The game starts back up and everyone's energy is on a high. The teams know that someone has to score, Camille's determined for it to be her.

The clock has 5 seconds left, and the score still reads 0-0. Camille breaths deeply, she rushes the ball through all the girls making her way to center field.
