Author's POV

"I love you." Cheryl hugged her daughter tight, not wanting to let go "I'm gonna miss you so much." She said and Camille smiled.

"I love you more, Mamma." She kissed her mother's cheek, getting kisses in return. Cheryl wouldn't stop leaving her lips on her baby, hating to send her to James.

"Mamma, I have to go." Camille giggled and stopped her mother's kisses.

"I know, baby." Cheryl gave her one last kiss to the forehead, then let go.

"Mamma," Camille said, then pulled Cheryl closer to whisper in her ear "You're always gonna be my favourite." The teen smiled and gave her Mam a kiss to the cheek before rushing down the steps and into her Mum's car.

Cheryl waved goodbye, having happy tears in her eyes from her daughter's comment. It made her whole day that Camille told her that. Cheryl knew she wasn't lying either, she could hear the honesty.

Camille didn't want to meet her father in an empty parking lot like a divorced couple with a child. She wanted Kimberley to know where James lived and for her to see him. The teen just wants all of her family to get along. So, they decided to drive to James' new house to drop Camille off.

The car ride wasn't completely silent, but Camille could tell how on-edge her Mum was. It was a car ride that was filled with singing, hand-holding, conversations, and unfortunately, a silent controversy.

They soon found themselves in front of the large home, seeing James waiting on the porch. Camille smiled and waved to him, but turned around to say bye to her Mum for the weekend.

"I love you, sweetheart." Kimberley gave her daughter a kiss and a good cuddle. Camille looked at her mother and Kimberley saw tears in her eyes.

"Aw, honey, it's okay. You're going to have an amazing time with James, okay?" Kimberley wiped the tears and kissed under Camille's eyes. The teen smiled and got her stuff out of the back.

"I love you, Mumma." Camille said, making Kimberley's heart melt.

"I love you more, Millie." Kimberley blew her daughter a kiss as she was about to shut the passenger door. They waved to each other before Camille turned around and saw her father.

"James!" Camille exclaimed and ran to her father's arms.  James held them wide open, wanting so badly to have his daughter in his arms again.  They shared a warm embrace, easily melting into each other's arms.

With Max and Camille being a bit closer than her and Sara, Camille finds more comfort in men.  That's why she tells Max everything, has Beau as a best friend, and trusts Wren to never break her heart.  It's the bond between different genders that Camille finds a unique honesty in.  She believes that men will tell the truth and give it to her straight.  While women, like her Mum and Mam, will baby her and sugar coat just about everything.

"Hey, Squirt!" James ruffled Camille's hair and walked her into the front room of his new, empty house.  She looked around, admiring the looks of the house.  It's modern with a touch of manliness and the teen knew the furniture wouldn't make it less made for a man.

"It's really nice." Camille gave her father a high-five and he lightly laughed at the gesture.

"There's Ginge!" James pointed to the kitten and Camille gasped. She bent down, picking up the cat and holding it close. The kitten rubbed against her jawline, tickling the teen.
