Author's POV

Camille and her mothers' walked into the office, ready for the teen to have her check-in with Dr Hayes.  It's been a little bit since she last came in, but she thinks she's getting better.

When the three girls sat down in the waiting room, Camille noticed that the girl she bumped into last time was walking in as well.

The two teen girls made eye contact as the girl went to sit down across the room.  Camille let a small smile be shown before looking back at the magazine her Mam was reading.  The girl saw Camille's hand tangled with her Mum's and how close she was sitting to her Mam.  She reads between the lines and sees how dependent Camille is on her parents.

Camille can feel someone looking at her and turns her gaze to the staring girl.  To the teen's surprise, she doesn't look away.  Camille was the first to break the gaze as she looked down with a smile on her face.  The girl realized that she had cracked Camille and had made her smile.

"What're you smiling at?" Cheryl quietly asked her daughter, seeing her wide smile that she's trying to hide.

"Nothing, that dress is really pretty." Camille distracted her mother with the magazine again, flashing the girl another smile.

"Ms Camille," Dr Hayes appeared from the door and waited for Camille. She waved her mothers' off and joined Dr Hayes in walking to her office.

"How are youuu?" Dr Hayes asked as they sat down.

"I'm gooood." Camille copied Dr Hayes tone, making them both giggle.

"Yeah? You seem quite bright this morning." Dr Hayes smiled at Camille's sudden bright smile today.

"Just trying to stay positive is all." Camille shrugged her shoulders, knowing that nothing is holding her back right now.

"So, what's up?" Dr Hayes wondered what was going on in Camille's life.

"Well, Mam is back, obviously. Tonight, we have a dinner at Wren's house with his Dad and sister. I met with my brother yesterday, he had a surprise for me." Camille briefly mentioned everything happening lately.

"What'd you get?" Dr Hayes nosily asked, but didn't worry about it, seeing that they've become quite close.

"A 1974 yellow beetle convertible." Camille said, causing Dr Hayes to gasp.

"Oh wow!" She exclaimed and smiled at Camille who seemed really happy in the moment.

"So, I wanted to ask you something." Camille began, getting to what she's been meaning to ask.

"Mhmm."

"Do you think that it's a good idea for me to meet my real father?" Camille asked, wanting to hear what Dr Hayes had to say before telling her what she did.

"I think that it's...a lot to take in.  You have only been with your mothers' for a few months, maybe you should stick with them for now.  I think there will come a time and place for you to meet him." Dr Hayes explained and Camille nodded along.

"Yeah, I thought the same.  I guess the mystery of it was just killing me a bit." Camille said and looked at the ground.  Now she's wondering if she made a mistake by meeting James.
