Author's POV
"You know, I hate to say it, but I think I'm gonna miss it being just you and me." Camille truthfully opened up her thoughts to her Mum as she rummaged through her makeup bag.
The two were getting ready for their days at work and school in Kimberley and Cheryl's ensuite. They've been attached at the hip all morning and Camille decided to bring her makeup to her Mum's bathroom. Kimberley already put Camille's hair in a braid leading to a ponytail.
"What do you mean?" Kimberley asked, wondering what Camille meant.
"I love Mam to pieces and I miss her so so so much, but this has been somewhat nice. I feel like we've become more connected in a way." Camille said as she gently put on her mascara and then passed it to her Mum.
"Really?" Kimberley said after taking the tube of mascara and opening it to apply it on her own lashes.
"Yeah, I've always felt like we had that sort of thing." Camille told her Mum, looking at her through the big bathroom mirror.
"You lost me again." Kimberley shook her head and opened her blush. She also grabbed her blush brush as well.
"I feel like our sort of love doesn't make me sit in anxiety," Camille went on as she turned to look at Kimberley and felt her apply blush to her already-rosy cheeks "I love having a natural connection where I can recognize a feeling of home in someone. I feel like that's what we have and always have had." The teen shrugged her shoulders and turned back to the mirror.
"Aww, that's so adorable...and wise. Jeez, that school is teaching you so much." Kimberley joked, causing Camille to giggle. The teen has always loved how Kimberley can make a joke out of any situation - whether that be a good or bad thing.
"I wasn't taught that, I've always felt that way." Camille zipped up her makeup bag and saw Kimberley gazing at her.
"Stop! You're gonna make me cry!" Kimberley whined as the teen turned to look at her again with her beautiful blue eyes.
"Get over here." Kimberley grabbed her daughter by the shoulders and pulled her body closer. They embraced for a few seconds before the hug naturally unfolded.
"I love you," Kimberley kissed her daughter's forehead "Now, let's get going before you're late for school." She pushed the teen out of her ensuite to go get her bag and head for the car.
"I'll be in the car!" Camille yelled before walking out of the front door with her rugsak and violin in hand.
The teen rushed to the car, placing her violin in the backseat and putting her rugsak behind her seat on the floor. She buckled her seatbelt as she got in the passenger seat and started scrolling through Instagram.
