Author's POV
"Game day!" Cheryl yelled as she walked into her daughter's room. She threw open the drapes and rolled her eyes at the whining teen. Cheryl walked over to her daughter's bed and sat down.
"Why are you doing this?" Camille groaned as she rolled over. The teen buried her head into one of the pillows, making Cheryl smile for some reason.
"C'mon, bubba. It's the big day!" Cheryl excitedly said as she spooned Camille from behind. The teen smiled, but didn't let her Mam see.
"I can see that smirk!" Cheryl exclaimed and kissed her daughter's cheek. Camille giggled and turned around in her mother's arms.
"Are you excited?" Cheryl asked and kissed the teen's nose. Camille giggled before her smile faded.
"Nervous." Camille simply responded, letting all her nerves be seen. Cheryl frowned, never seeing her daughter so nervous.
"It's alright, bubba. You're amazing at what you do and no matter what, me and Kimba will always be proud of you." Cheryl sweetly consoled the nervous teen, trying to make her feel better.
"Thanks, Mam." Camille snuggled her head into her mother's chest, feeling more at ease.
After having some more cuddles, Kimberley came in and hurried them. They both jumped out of bed, scared to see the stressed-out side of Kimberley.
Camille went into the huge ensuite and took a few deep breaths. She looked at herself in the mirror and inwardly talked to herself. Eventually, she washed her face and made sure to use the coldest water. She brushed her teeth and did all the other essential activities. The teen threw her long hair into a high ponytail and tied it tight. She threw on her white jersey, missing the cyan one.
Ever since the accident with Coach Rutherford, the London girls have been playing all home games. They've never traveled before because no one volunteered to drive their bus. It's hard for them to travel because they haven't experienced it together. The girls are so used to playing at home and are scared to feel uncomfortable on someone else's field. The cyan jerseys are Coach Rutherford's favorite color, so wearing white feels wrong to them. But, rules are rules and the white is their guest color.
"Ready?!" Kimberley said outside the ensuite door, making Camille jump. She messed with her ponytail one last time and walked out to find her Mam and Mum.
"Yeah, I just need to get my shoes." Camille walked over to her suitcase and grabbed her normal tennis shoes. She stuffed her cleats in her football game for later.
"Let's get going then!" Kimberley said and pushed her two girls out the door. They hurried to their car and Cheryl put the stadium address into her GPS.
"Mum-" Camille cried out in a panicked tone, becoming stressed out. All these scenarios were playing in her head and she couldn't get them out.
"I know, sweetheart." Kimberley talked sweetly to calm the teen. She put on their 'musicals' playlist and looked in the rear-view mirror.
They drove to the big stadium and parked in the first spot they saw. Camille gathered her bag together and pulled out her headphones and phone. They walked to the pavement and Camille plugged her headphones in.
