Author's POV

"Hey," Kimberley beams as the teen walks out to the back deck with the assistance of her crutches.  The blonde has just been sat in one of the pool loungers with her feet up and a nice cuppa.

"Good Morning," Camille beams as she makes her way over to her mother.

"You're chirpy this morning," The blonde giggles as she helps her daughter sit on her lap.

"I just missed the sun and fresh air," The teen rejoices as she feels the sun beating down on her face. Even though it is still very cold out, the sun still shines bright.

"Have you heard anything about your father?"

"I talked to Nicole last night, she said he's doing much better. Hopefully, he'll be able to go home soon. But, other than that, I was just chatting to her."

"What'd she say?"

"Nothing important, we were just talking, ya' know?"

"About what?"

"Just normal things,"

"You know, me and Nicole are actually very close. Like how you and Mam are my mothers, but your also like my friends."

"Yeah,"

"I just would never admit that because I know Mam wouldn't take it well."

"One of the reasons that I like to visit Dad is because I get to see Nicole too."

"Yeah, I know."

"You do?"

"She really cares about you," Kimberley adds, "She came to visit you when your Mam and I were in the hospital room."

"What happened?"

"You have to understand that your Mam wasn't in a good place—"

"Well, no one was."

"There was a moment where your heart stopped beating," Kimberley explains, making Camille put her hand to her chest, "And the doctor sent Nicole down because they didn't know what was gonna happen.  So, when she came into the room, your mother went off and told her that she wasn't allowed in the room."

"Why?"

"Your Mam wanted to be the only one to take care of you.  Something about she lost you once and she wasn't gonna lose you again."

"She wanted to be the only one that could make me better."

"Who's gonna tell her that it was actually Rosie that woke you up?" Kimberley giggles along with her daughter.

"So, I really woke up right when Rosie had come in to talk to me?"

"Yeah, she was talking to you and then she started crying real bad.  She was sobbing and we could all hear it from the corridor.  She was holding your hand and her head was on your chest."

"And then I just woke up?"

"Just like that," Kimberley adds and looks down at Camille's face, "You remember that conversation we had in France?"

"She does not have a crush on me," The teen insists and hides her face in Kimberley's chest.

"Oh, c'mon!" The blonde teases.

"I haven't even seen her since then,"

"Why don't you give her a call?  Have her come hang out with you sometime soon."

"Yeah,"

"You'll need some fun when all this court stuff starts." Kimberley mentions.

"I guess so." The teen mumbles and shrugs her shoulders.
