KEITH - SCARED

My heart lurched.
"The entire time?"

"Well, the entire time Nova blew up the planet. Not the entire time."
Nitro admitted.

"You wanted to destroy that planet, didn't you? You did it on purpose."
I realized, out loud.

"I was reminded of something that happened a long time ago."

"You were scared."

She looked at me dead in the eye.
"I was angry."

"I won't tell anyone about this. I won't tell them you were scared."
I tried to mediate.

"I wasn't scared."
She said harshly.

"I was."
I rushed out, too fast that it became awkward.

"W-what?"
A look of concern crossed her face.

"I thought you were gone, Nitro. I thought I'd never get to see you again. Of course I was scared."
I admitted, unknowingly tightening my fist on her blanket.

She put her hand over mine, and I sighed before continuing.

"The worst part was, I thought it was my fault. I left you behind."

"Keith..."
She took my face in her hands.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. It was my choice."

"Nitro?"

"Yes, Keith?"

"Don't leave me, okay?"

I felt her fingers run through my hair, and she pulled me closer.

"I would never."
