"Uh? Keith?"

He was staring right at me, super close to my face, as if he'd been waiting for me to wake up.

We were really close, I realized.

My swim shirt was off.

And so was his.

"Keith, what did you-"

"You fell in the pool, I dragged you out. I didn't want you to catch a cold, so I took it off. I'm sorry. I should have asked-"

"I fell in the pool?"

"Yeah. You don't remember?"

"All I remember is going to sleep in the raft and waking up with you."
I shook my head.

Lies.

I did remember.

I remembered Keith pushing me, turning into Nova...

It had only been a dream.

Right?

When I had dreamed of drowning, I must have fallen into the pool.

"Are you sure you don't remember anything else?"
He narrowed his eyes, but seemed a little nervous at the same time.

"Did anything else happen?"
I threw back at him.

He visibly squirmed.
"Nothing important."

I opened my mouth to ask what the quiznak that was supposed to mean, but Shiro burst in.

"Hey, Ke-"
His face dropped.

Keith wrapped his arm tighter around me, along with the blanket. Shiro hasn't seen my scar.

"Shiro..."

"I thought you were sleeping in the pool, Nitro."
He said accusingly.

"I was, but I fell in the pool and-"
I blurted.

"You don't have to make excuses, Nitro. Just tell me, it's okay."

"I'm serious."

He sighed in defeat.
"Fine. Training today. Get dressed, both of you. Now."

"We are dressed!"
Keith shouted defensively, slowly moving the blanket to prove it.

"No, no! I just... get up, okay?"
Shiro looked away quickly, then rushed out of the room.

Keith turned to me.
"I wasn't going to."

"I know you weren't."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be."

"I've made things even more awkward..."

I took his face in my hands.
"You saved me, Keith."

His eyes widened.
"I'll always be there to save you."

"I know you will."
I said, a bit sadly.

"Do you trust me?"

Spazz had asked me the same question multiple times.

And each time, I had dodged it.

Each time I had told him that I was working on it, that we were making progress. Keith was different.

I hadn't trusted anyone like I'd trusted him. Not since (f/n).
