Third person POV

It was already late afternoon when (Y/N) was finally greeted by the new greenie. She hadn't even learned his name yet. All she knew was he was a shank for running as soon as he came out of the box and smells like feet, but that's still more than she usually knew on their first night.

She was usually the one giving the tour the next day because she's the most patient with the greenies but Alby said it could go to Chuck this month since the track hoes were behind in the gardens.

(Y/N) was walking alongside Newt to grab some firewood for the bonfire tonight when they runners came back from the maze. She quickly pecked her boyfriends cheek and ran towards the sweaty runners.

She was quick on her feet but her brother being a runner meant she would never step foot inside the maze. Her brothers name was Ben. He had been in the glade for only a handful of months now which seemed shy in comparison to her three years.

She ran towards the two runners and was immediately lifted off her feet and spun around. Ben made it a tradition to meet her after a day in the maze and spin her around just to hear her laugh.

"Hey sis. How were the boring gardens?" Ben asked (Y/N) as they jogged towards the map room inside the woods. Minho allowed (Y/N) inside the hut even though it was off limits to other gladers because she was the only girl and was annoyingly persistent.

"It was fine. How was the maze?" She asked approaching the hut.

Ben sighed and pulled her into a tight hug. "Same as always." It was depressing for the runners to know nothing would ever change. To know that they were trapped inside the maze without a way out.

They had searched every inch of the maze and haven't found an exit. They've been looking for three years so why would they find it now?

The information was kept secret between only a few of the runners, Alby and (Y/N). She made sure to keep it from Newt knowing about his suicide attempt thanks to the maze. She knew if she told him, she might loose him forever.

"Don't worry. You'll find it, someday," she tried to assure him and pulled him into a tighter hug.

All the while, Chuck and the greenie were engaged in a conversation beginning when the runners arrived.

"Who's she?" The greenie asked. He had remembered his name as Thomas but Chuck was happy to call him greenie seeing as he isn't one anymore.

"That's (Y/N). She's the only girl in the glade and the nicest," Chuck explained. "She's also Ben's sister."

Thomas's eyes went wide and he turned to the youngest glader. "Sister? They know they're siblings?"

"Some things can trigger a memory. I guess when they saw each other, they just... remembered. Nobody questions it cause they're sweet to each other. They're like actual siblings and it's funny," Chuck laughed and turned towards the maze.

"I thought you said nobody was allowed out there?" Thomas said pointing to the maze. Chuck sighed, knowing there wasn't much he could explain about the maze.

(Y/N)'s POV

Today, Newt and I were watching the greenie try out for track hoes as a job. Newt had sent him into the woods to get some more fertilizer since his questions were driving us insane.

"That was a very smart idea," I giggled and wrapped my arms around his waist. He kissed my forehead and pulled me tighter.

"Well he's getting bloody annoying," he remarked. "We're almost done here then we'll have all night, alright love?"
