I was walking down the hall with my boyfriends hand laced in mine when we stopped at my locker. We were busy in a conversation about what movie to watch tonight that I hadn't noticed the group of girls giggling across the hall.First, I need to explain how popular Thomas is. Him being the most popular boy in school as well as the most attractive draws a lot of attention towards him. Then there's me. The girl who hides in the back of the classroom with her hands fumbling to hide her large stomach and thighs. We were polar opposites physical wise yet our minds are the same. That's what brought us together.
We had been partnered for a science project together and of course at the beginning I was beyond insulted that my teacher thought I should be partnered with him since he wasn't known for being smart. But I didn't know him then. I misjudged him. He would meet me everyday for lunch and our free periods to work on the project and we would spend the weekends together at one another's houses.
I found he wasn't dumb at all but self conscious. He worried they would call him a nerd for being so smart-straight A's smart. But then he found feelings for me and all those worries shifted. He didn't worry if his friends knew he got an A on his test, but now worried where I was, was I safe, or was I with someone else? I found that under his cocky and dumb exterior was a boy I loved.
The girls had their lips in their teeth and their hands twirling their short hair. Each of their skirts were pulled higher than necessary, practically flashing any person who walked by. Their shirts were pulled down far enough to show that none of them were wearing bras.
Thomas glanced over at them before to me and them back to them. I ignored the sudden ache in my chest and turned back to my locker. I finished placing my books in my bag and turned back to Thomas. His eyes were still on the giggling girls.
He nudged my arm making me jump slightly before leaning closer to me. I was unsure of what he was doing so I froze and backed up slightly. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. He put his lips against my ear just enough where I could feel his warm breaths.
"Do you think the middle one notices the leaf in her hair?" He whispered into my ear. I darted my eyes towards the black haired girl in the center. Sure enough a large green leaf was stuck in hair beside her ear. I sniffled a laugh and looked back to Thomas.
He smiled down at me and intertwined our fingers again. "Ready?" I nodded and let him take us back outside to the parking lot.
On our walk, he had slipped his hand out of mine and placed it firmly on my waist when he noticed a group of football players with their eyes on me.
Before Thomas and I started going out, which was almost two years ago, not a single boy had any interest in me. Now that I'm taken by Thomas, the other boys are envious and claim they 'wish they noticed how hot I was before he did'. I think they just don't like that I'm dating Thomas when I'm a nobody.
Nevertheless this didn't stop girls from staring at Thomas. They would constantly flirt and edge him on whenever they saw him regardless if I was there or not. All eyes followed us as we got to my car.
Beside my old rundown car, was a blue convertible. The car was filled with half the cheerleading team in their right uniforms. They all giggled and hollered when Thomas and I got to the car.
"Hey Tommy!"
"Come over here Thomas!"
"Looking good Thomas!"
They all yelled as I put the keys into the car to open the door. Of course the one day I need it to open it doesn't work. Great.
"Hi girls," he said nonchalantly back. He never put any energy into the conversations with the girls that talked to him but he wasn't rude either.
"So how about you come over here. We have plenty of room for you," the head cheerleader said with her leg stretched over the car door, slightly exposing her panties underneath. Come on, stupid door!
"I'm sure we can give you a good time. Not like she could," another one called out switching out of her shirt into another, once again flashing her chest to Thomas.
I finally got the keys in just as a single tear rolled down my cheek. It was hard looking like me and loving a guy looking like him when girls like them are falling for him too. I didn't compare to those girls at all. They should be with him, not me.
He must have noticed my face and slammed his door shut and came around the side of the car where I was which also happened to be beside the girls. He put his hand around my waist and glared at the girls.
"This has to stop now," Thomas practically growled at the girls. "I'm tired of you pathetic girls flinging yourselves at me. I have an amazing and gorgeous girlfriend right here and I'm not loosing her for one of you. I love her so much and I want you all to lay off. So if you don't mind I'm gonna take my hot girlfriend into the back seat of her car and make love to her until you all get the idea that I'm taken. Have a nice life."
All of us stood there shocked as he took my arm and, as promised, pulled myself and him into the back seat of my car. He set me under him and put our bags on the ground.
I was at a loss for words with my hand on his cheek. I gently rubbed his lips with my thumb while our eyes stayed locked together.
"Did you really mean all that?" I asked still shocked he said that.
"Of course I did. You're my girl and I gotta protect you," he replied with a smirk. I smiled and pulled on his neck until our lips met...
