* This imagine was requested by PrincessofPugs  I wasn't sure who you wanted it so I made it a Newt AU and I wasn't sure where you wanted me to go with this so I hope this is what you had in mind! Thank you for sending it in and I'll have the other one up soon! :) I know I never post twice in a day but I felt like I needed to pick up the slack since I have so many requests to fill! *

Newt's POV

School was without a doubt, the most boring and draining place that ever existed. More specially, high school. Everything was boring, from the teachers, to the students, to the boring classes I had no interests in. Except for one. Music class.

It was sort of like a club, except the teacher gave us actual grades. The teacher, Mrs. Lively, practically let us do whatever we wanted for the hour and then smacked a 100 on our grades.

I was a quiet student, sitting in the corner of the class gently strumming the guitar so nobody farther than a few feet could hear me. I never socialized, so I watched the other kids do it in front of me. Still, nothing ever changed. Until today.

"Class," Mrs. Lively announced twenty minutes after the period began. "Today we are introducing a new musical talent. (Y/N)." I subconsciously gasped when the girl peeked out from behind Mrs. Lively.

I swore then I had never seen a girl more beautiful. Her (Y/H/L) (Y/H/C) hair was gently draped over left shoulder in a messy fishtail braid. The normal, ugly school uniform looked crisp and clean on her body, hugging the right curves and ignoring the bad ones. Her face had lightly done makeup to highlight the gorgeous, shining (Y/E/C) eyes I stared at. She was absolutely breath taking.

"Hi," she waved shyly, looking up from her feet. "I look forward to working with you!" The sudden energy in her voice sounded light angels singing directly to me. 'Come on, Newt. It's just a girl. You're blowing this out of proportion' I told myself.

"You can take a seat wherever you like. The kids normally just sit wherever and play whatever. You said you okay the-," Mrs. Lively left a pause for (Y/N) to fill in.

"The guitar." I glanced down at the guitar in my lap, my heart frozen. She played the same instrument as me.

"Well, we have only one other person who plays guitar in the class. You can sit with him. He's," she scanned the room until her eyes widened on me. "Ah, right over there. I'm sure you'll fit in just nicely." She gently pushed on (Y/N)'s back to guide her towards the rows of kids. (Y/N) walked down the row before coming straight towards me. She took the empty seat two over to my left and set her bag on the floor.

"Hello," I chirped, startling her a little. Her eyes returned to normal when she looked over at me, a smile curling on her lips.

"Hi. I'm (Y/N)," she said holding her arm out. I threw my arm out quickly, forgetting the guitar in my lap. It slid down my legs and I clumsily gripped it to pull it back, accidentally strumming the strings. The sound was loud enough to draw every eye in the room over to me. I would have been terrified if it weren't for (Y/N)'s soft giggles she was hiding behind her hand.

I set the guitar down quietly and held my hand out for her. "My names Newt." When she shook my hand, I couldn't help but notice the thin silver ring on her ring finger. On the center of the band was a small, light blue diamond in the shape of a heart.

"Did your boyfriend give that to you?" I asked without thinking. I internally palmed my forehead at the stupid comment. You don't just ask a girl about her boyfriend!

She laughed nervously. "Haha, umm, no... my mom gave it to me for my last birthday. I don't- I don't have a boyfriend." It was quiet pathetic how quickly my smile returned hearing her say that. That meant I had a shot with her.
