I know this probably isn't what you wanted and for that I'm sorry. I don't really like how it turned out so if you hate it too, I'll be happy to change it. I'm just having some writers block at the moment. Also I'm sorry to say but requests are CLOSED! I've been very busy lately and I probably won't be as active as I used to be, and I apologize for that. Thank you for understanding! *
The glade was filled with boys, so there typically were sweaty arguments or childish banter between them. Their fights never lasted longer than a few minutes and if two didn't get along then Alby was forced to place the two of them in a room together where they could either fight out feelings, or make up and shake it off like boys do.
This was why the whole glade was in panic when the girls fought.
The boys felt like they were stepping into uncharted territories if they came between the girls. They feared they would lose a limp if they tried breaking them up. They didn't have to worry much because there were only two girls in the glade: myself and the raven haired snake, Teresa.
Our relationship- if I can even call it that- didn't start out with the glares or whispers behind each others backs. When she first arrived, I was as gentle as possible with her and helped her out as much as I could, remembering how much I would have loved having another girl around.
She was kind too. She listened to me as I explained to her everything about the maze as I gave her the monthly tour, which I had never done before. We got along really well, and even hung out for a few hours at the bonfire as she was warming up to the boys. Everything went down hill when Newt showed up.
He didn't mean to be the cause of our downfall, but he was the problem. It was jealousy. The longing stares and flirty giggles that came from Teresa boiled a part of me that I had never felt before. And the kisses and hugs Newt gave me, his girlfriend, were sending the same fire into Teresa. Both of us pining for the same boy, only one of us having a real relationship built.
"Hey Newt," said Teresa as she swayed herself directly in front of me so she was between Newt and I. "I was hoping you could help me with something. It's just in the homestead, away from everyone else."
"Umm, sure. I'll help you," he replied, nervously scratching the back of his neck.
"Great!" She cheered, taking both of his hands into hers. "I'll be in my room waiting." Teresa made sure to spin around to send me a spiteful smirk before sashaying herself out of the gardens and towards the Homestead.
The anger that stirred inside me didn't compare to the anger Gally displayed almost 24/7. How dare she stand there and beg for my boyfriend to follow her off to her room. And even better, how dare Newt say yes!
"Love," Newt cooed, almost too afraid of how I was about to blow up. This wasn't the first time Teresa had done this, so Newt knew the hateful stares that were aimed in the direction Teresa had just left from.
"How could you say yes?" I immediately barked. Newt jumped out of fright since he had not been expecting me to turn the anger on him. "How could you let her get away with flirting when you're dating me?"
"(Y/N), you're being unreasonable. I'm still Second in Command and I have to help a glader when they need it, even if they are a flirty girl." His answer made me scoff, running my hands through my hair and tugging harshly at the ends. I was surprised it wasn't falling out in clumps yet.
"But you know she doesn't need it! This is the third time this week that she's needed your help, and only one of those times she actually had you do something! The other times she just locked you in the room until Alby had to come rescue you!" Newt was getting tired of this- the fights that came from the flirting Teresa did to him. He couldn't help that another girl had an interest in him, but he didn't have to let her.
"You know what," he suddenly threw down the tool in his hands and grabbed onto mine, dragging me after Teresa. "This has gone on long enough."
"Newt, what are you-" He didn't answer me when he practically pulled me up the stairs and towards the last door in the hallway. Once her burst through the door, Teresa yelped, and crouched behind the bed in shock. She relaxed when she saw Newt, but glared when she saw me.
"What is she doing here?" She whined, standing up from her position and crossing her arms over her chest. "I asked for-"
"I don't bloody care what you asked for." Newt hissed, cutting off someone for the second time today. "I don't bloody care about these little problems of yours. I have a girlfriend, a bloody amazing one, and I don't need you ruining it or coming between us. Leave (Y/N) and I alone." With that, Newt turned on his heal while taking my hand back in his and leading me out of the Homestead.
He stopped once he got to the entrance and planted both of his hands against my cheeks. He pulled my face closer until our lips met in a harsh yet meaningful kiss. It was rough, but it showed exactly how he was feeling. He wanted me, and only me.
He pulled back first, lips swollen and out of breath. His eyes fluttered open seconds before mine and they locked in a stare that sent chills down my body.
"I love you, not Teresa. Don't ever doubt that. Alright?" When he kissed me the second time after I nodded yes, he made sure it was softer where we took our time instead of feeling rushed like a second ago.
And I wouldn't doubt Newt again. I trusted him, and I believed that if he said he loved me, then he really did.
