*This imagine was requested by webbiewub Thank you for being so patient with me to get this posted! I'm sorry it's so short! The part one is from a really long time ago but you don't really need to read the first part to read this one. Also, thank you all for the reads! I almost hit 40,000! *"Ready to go, love?" My boyfriend of four years asked coming into our bathroom. I was finishing doing my hair when he put his arms around my waist from behind.
"Done!" I yelled when I applied the last layer of lipstick and spun around. He smiled, pecking my cheek to avoid messing up the makeup I took so long to do. We then linked fingers and began our shirt walk from his house to our favorite coffee shop- the one where we met.
Thomas and I did this bi-weekly; we would get up early and go to get breakfast and drinks at the small coffee shop inside the library. We each would choose a book for each other to skim through while sipping and munching on our breakfast until either we became bored or Thomas was suddenly bombarded with fans- which happened more times than I would like to admit.
The owners by now knew each of orders just by the looks of our faces. All it took was one smile to the cashier and they had our orders and pastries ready. We always order the same thing obviously: Thomas had a cup of hot tea and a scone and I had a hot chocolate and a donut.
We took our seats at our designated couch- it wasn't necessarily ours but no one ever took our spot- and waited for our names to be called. Today, the book Thomas had given me was The Maze Runner. I laughed when I handed him the same book in return. We each had read it once before but it was such a good book that I had reread it many times.
"Remember when we met here?" He asked suddenly. He was staring at the corner of the library where the tables and queues were set up for a meet and greet, just like how it was over four years ago with him and his cast. Only now, it was one author signing the books and handing them out.
"It was so embarrassing. I spilled my drink and then yelled 'shuck!' in front of you." My cheeks filled with heat but the smile stayed on my face. Then, I was completely mortified that I had done all that. Now, I laugh it off knowing I got an amazing boyfriend out of it.
He laughed and slipped his arm around my waist. He pulled me gently into him, looking down at me now with those big, brown eyes.
"I thought it was cute. I especially loved those facial expressions you made when you were reading. You kept scrunching up your nose-" he kissed my nose, "and pursing you lips-" he kissed my lips, "and wiggling you eyebrows-" he kissed my forehead.
"You were this big shot actor signing autographs and I happened to be sitting thirty feet from you. Who knew you would come over and sit with me?" While Thomas and I were busy reminiscing about our first meeting, the owner of the shop, Tony, set our orders down on the table beside us.
He looked directly at Thomas when he said, "everything's all set. I hope you both enjoy and have a great day." He winked at Thomas, smirking and walking off back to the counter. Thomas shrugged when I gave him a confused glance, so I shook it off too.
He handed me my hot drink and set the bag of each of our pastries in our laps. He took a sip of his drink and asked me how mine was before I even had a chance to drink it. I could visibly see the nerves taking over Thomas's body as his eyes darted between me and the cup.
"Are you alright?" I asked putting my hand over his shakey one.
He nodded unconvincingly. "Mhmm, yeah. I'm fine." When I brought my drink up to my lips, the black scribbled writing on the side caught my attention. 'Mr' was the beginning of the word. That wasn't my name.
I spun the cup around and read the side of it. 'Mrs.Sangster'. I looked over at Thomas's cup that had the matching name: Mr.Sangster.
"That's so sweet," I smiled kissing him on his rosy cheeks. He swiftly took the cup out of my hand and set his and mine down on the table. In a quick motion, he was on the floor in front of me with both of my hands inside his.
"I want that name to be true," he whispered, digging into the bag his scone was in. Instead, he pulled out a smell velvet box. Instantly, my eyes blurred with tears at the man in front of me.
"I had this whole speech planned," he began, nervously looking at our tangled hands, "but now that I'm in front of you about to do it... I can't think of the right words to say. So, I promise I'll do it a second time somewhere more fancy-"
"No, no this is prefect. It's where we met. How we met," I spoke over him in a loving voice, tears already sliding down my cheeks.
"Then," he flipped open he lid to reveal a beautiful square cut diamond ring, "will you be Mrs.Sangster? Will you marry me?"
My words were caught in my throat, so I vigorously nodded, holding my hand out. His eyes lit up when he slipped the ring on my finger- missing only one time. We kissed with my hands on his cheeks and his on my legs since I didn't give him much of an option to stand up.
When he finally got up from the floor to join me on the couch, Tony and his wife Pepper were already running over to congratulate us with hugs and another donut in a bag.
"I'm so happy for you two," Pepper gushed, holding me in a tight hug. "I remember the day you two met. I was watching the two of you and it was like true love." Pepper believed in all that 'soul mate' stuff, saying she could feel when two people were meant for each other. She mentioned it to me a couple times how Thomas and I were perfectly each other's matches- soul mates.
The four of us talked for a little while until a customer came in, so the two had to leave to continue working. Thomas and I went back to the couch and pulled out one copy of the book and read it together.
"Just think," Thomas said a few minutes after we started reading. "-without this book, we would never have met each other."
I smiled widely, beaming with happiness in this perfect moment. "You should thank James Dashner. Without him, we wouldn't be here."
Our relationship started because I wasn't the typical fan to scream his name and get as close to him as possible. It was because I respected his boundaries that he came to me.
Regardless, my life wouldn't be the way it is without a boy named Thomas waking up inside a box.
