Thank you for being so patient with me and I really hope you like this one! *

"(Y/N) and Newt, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G," the boys sang, not caring about the flush covering my entire face. This wasn't the first time this song has been sung- today even- but it still had the same embarrassing effect on me.

"First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage," they continued. It was three boys, the same ones who harassed me when I ate dinner, worked in the gardens, or went to sleep. In their defense, everything I did was with Newt.

"When are you two just gonna date already?" Frypan whined as he rested his cheeks against his palm that was propped up on the table. He had pushed the singing boys away so it was only him and I here. "You two are the only entertainment I got and I'm tired of the angst. I want romance!"

There was no romance, or at least in my eyes it wasn't. There might have been, but Newt was in love with his work. It was like the story of Romeo and Juliet- Newt was Romeo, I was Rosaline, and Juliet was the glade. Newt didn't look at me that way, he was too busy to.

That didn't mean he didn't care for me. He was a selfless boy with a giant heart, and an oblivious mind. I mean, I'm sure by now he knows that I liked him, but the fact that he hasn't said anything yet tells me he doesn't feel the same way.

He still walked me to breakfast every morning after I left the bathrooms, which he guarded so that no boy could sneak a peak at the only girl. He still brought me my meals while I waited for him at a table so that I wouldn't have to wait in the long line like the other boys. He still assisted me in my work, even though he had his own pile of crops to plant, but he insisted on helping me with mine. He still cared for me, even though he didn't love me.

"He doesn't like me like that Fry," I whispered, twisting a piece of string that had been dangling off the hem of my shirt.

"That's the biggest pile of klunk I've ever heard, and I once heard Gally say he was the most good looking shank in this place." I laughed unfortunately at his joke, but quickly covered it with a cough. He saw right through me and continued on with a smirk on his face. "I just want my ship to sail. You guys are my OTP!"

"What's an OTP?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I don't know. Thomas said he remembered it, said it meant you really want two people together, which I do!"

"Fry, it's never gonna happen. Newt doesn't like me that way, he's just a nice guy." My eyes trailed off my shirt and towards the boy who was waiting in line for me. Frypan should have been in the kitchen, but he snuck away for these few seconds to antagonize me with the others.

"Y'know how much trouble you'll get into by sitting here with me?" I asked while turning back to the cook.

"What is he gonna do? Throw me in the pit and make the food himself? Ha!" He fake laughed before deciding he really should be getting back to work. "Don't let my ship sink, (Y/N)!" He called out as he rushed back to the kitchen.

"What was he talking about a boat?" A British voice asked as the person filled the seat beside me.

"It's just something Thomas said, nothing to worry about." I brushed off the butterflies in my stomach just from his presence, and took the food he had brought back for me. Maybe I could get through another meal without the boys harassing me again?

Newt and I had built a routine when it came time to go to bed. He would guard the bathroom for me as I showered and got ready, and I would wait for him outside- or inside if he wasn't showering- so we could walk to the hammocks together. Fortunately for us, our hammocks were side by side.

Tonight was no different, so thirty minutes after we entered the bathroom, we were finally leaving. Newt's hand brushed against mine the entire length of the walk, especially when we passed a group of boys heading exactly where we just left from.

We each situated ourselves into our hammocks, allowing one foot to hang out of each so we could gently sway ourselves. The rest of the glade was unusually quiet, but I would ignore the question and enjoy it, since it didn't happen often.

"Goodnight love," Newt whispered, reaching his arm out to poke my shoulder. I took his hand and linked our fingers in between our two hammocks so that a part of us was touching.

"Goodnight, Newt," I replied, closing my eyes after feeling a wave of tiredness wave over me. The two of us had only had our eyes closed for a minute when the obnoxious boys came out.

"Awww~!" One of them cooed, causing both Newt and I to jump upwards. Five boys were gathering right in front of our hammocks with their eyes staring at our hands. I nervously pulled mine back, setting it in my lap, and looking down to block my red cheeks.

"They would be so cute together!" A boy gushed while pressing both of his palms to his cheeks.

"Why didn't we just give them one hammock to share? Maybe then they would get together faster," it was Minho who said this when he joined the group, along with another few boys. Apparently, every boy in this glade wanted to watch Newt and I sleep.

"Get out of here! All you lot, go to bed!" Newt yelled. Even though anger was his front, he was obviously just as embarrassed as I was.

"He's right. If we leave, they can have their time together." Their laughter faded off as they all went to their own hammocks to sleep.

It was silent for a while as Newt and I settled back down. When I rolled onto my side, I noticed Newt's hand was outstretched again. With a small smile on my face, I reached for his hand to intertwine our hands before falling asleep.

"(Y/N), can you go get me some more fertilizer?" Zart asked me after two hours of working. He had been kneeling over a patch of weeds he was pulling to plant more seeds. I had no problem going, so I grabbed the bucket and shovel before trudging off towards the woods where I could find some.

After passing a few smirking boys, nervousness settled into me. The boys were always up to something, but that didn't make me any less nervous for me being the target of their next prank. Choosing to ignore it like usual, I entered the dark woods.

"Love?" A familiar voice asked behind me once I found the fertilizer I had been sent for. Spinning around, I smiled at Newt, but it faltered when I noticed the identical bucket in his hands. "What are you doing out here?"

"Umm, Zart sent me for more fertilizer. What are you doing here?" He closed the space between the two of us until he set the bucket down in front of him.

"He sent us both for the same bloody job," he chuckled, figuring why we were both sent here. "They did this on purpose."

"Why would they do this on-" I didn't finish when Newt cut me off.

"I guess now's a good as time as ever," he mumbled while taking my hands into his. "(Y/N), all these things that the boys keep saying, how we should be together and stuff... well I agree. I like you, more than a friend like you and I hope you like me too, but I understand if you don't. I mean, what kind guys tells a girl he likes her in front of a pile of shit, it's cra-"

His words were muffled when I pressed both hands to his cheeks and crashed our lips together. The shock was evident in the kiss, since it took him a few seconds to kiss back, but he eventually got over it. He wrapped his arms around my back, closing all the distance between our bodies.

"If that kiss wasn't enough, I like you too, more than a friend," I said breathlessly when I pulled back for air. He chuckled, leaning over me with a goofy smile on his face.

"That wasn't enough. Can you do it again?" I giggled in reply, pressing my lips to his for a second time.

"My OTP is canon!" A boy screamed while jumping out from behind a bush. Loud whooping and cheering filled the woods until half the Glade was standing around staring at Newt and I.

"My ship has sailed!" Another boy yelled, high fiving the boy beside him. Newt and I laughed them off, not caring that this entire thing had been a part of some elaborate plan that was probably Thomas's idea.

I hoped that this was the end to the boys obsession with us, but it was just the beginning of endless taunting over the Glade's only couple.
