I was happily bouncing around the room with my best friend Thomas while we were at his house. He had just gotten the first disk copy of his latest movie called 'Love Actually' where he played a little boy named Sam. He had been so excited to be in an adult movie like that so he had all of his family come over to watch it for the first time with him.We were playing around like two little kids after eating a bowl of sugar but his family didn't seem to mind much. I had been very mature for my age usually, me being three years younger than him (me being 10) but today I just didn't seem to mind; Thomas either.
After dinner, his family moved us over to the couches where the large tv would display the movie for us. Thomas set up a bunch of pillows and blankets for us and his little sister Ava to sit on while we watched the movie.
"Now kids," Tasha, Thomas's mother, said leaning down to us while holding out a bowl of popcorn. "This is an adult movie so (Y/N) make sure not to tell your mother about this." I giggled and assured her I wouldn't tell my mom.
I moved back into position so I was facing the screen while my shoulder touched Thomas's. We were sharing the popcorn that I had on my lap so frequently, our hands would touch. We would both giggle and blush before returning to the movie.
The movie went on for a while filled with annoying romance that I was too young to completely understand. Somewhere in the night, however, I had shifted closer into Thomas so my head was gently rested on his shoulder. The popcorn bowls were left with only kernels at the bottom so my full attention was on the movie.
We got to the part where Sam followed Joanna to the airport now. I giggled over Thomas looking so cute in the movie which made him blush and giggle over at Ava. When I looked back up at the screen, Joanna had come back and planted a kiss on Sam's cheek.
A new feeling erupted in my stomach. My cheeks reddened and I could feel my hands curling into fists. Anger bubbled inside my body and left a sour scowl on my face. I didn't like this feeling; I had never felt it before.
I jumped up from my seat and stormed off into the other room. I could hear Thomas ask me what's wrong but I kept going until I was inside their large kitchen that was separated from the living room. I stood in the center of the kitchen with my hands folded over my chest and steam practically coming out of my ears. What was this feeling?
"(Y/N)?" A female voice asked. I looked up and immediately put my hands down when I noticed it was Tasha. "What's the matter sweetheart?"
She knelt down in front of me and put his hands on my upper arms. The anger left me and was replaced with a sudden sadness. Tears left my eyes before I could even recognize them, before I started sobbing inside of her kitchen.
"I don't like Tommy with that girl," I said after she pulled me in for a hug. She gently shushed me and rubbed the back of my head until I finished crying, which only took a minute or two.
