Why Can't It Be?

Chapter 2 - The Dream

Friday night. Starting tomorrow, I will be having my week long vacation. It's my longest break in four years of being busy with concerts, albums, shoots and many more.

Work for me became less nowadays. My manager started to decline offers for me. Ang sabi ni Ate Pure mas mabuti daw yon para hindi magsawa sa akin ang mga tao. It favored me as well, it only meant one thing... more time to sleep.

Pagkatapos ng ilang taon din na sunod sunod ang projects ko, I barely had time to rest, to see my friends, my family or even to sleep and go in a vacation.

Tuwing rest day ko, if I am not at home watching flicks or series ay nasa bahay ako nila Keira. My best friend. That is if wala rin siyang work that day.

We decided to go out of town since one week naman akong walang work. Siya naman ay sa Thursday pa ang schedule niya for a magazine shoot.

We've decided to have a beach escapade. Where else? In Boracay.

"Li, daanan mo na lang ako sa bahay ha. Mga 8am." she told me over the phone. It was late and we were still up fixing our luggages.

"O sige. Basta agahan ko ang punta ko sa inyo. Alam mo na. Baka maipit tayo sa traffic." I told her.

"Alright. Sige na. I'll have my things ready pa for our few days vacation. I'm excited! Parang ang tagal na kitang di nakasama sa mga trips ano? Ang busy mo kasi. Mabuti naman at pinagbigyan ka na ngayon ng management."

"Oo nga. Nagulat nga ako eh. Si Ate Pure pa mismo ang nag offer sa akin na magbakasyon. Na sense yata niyang na buburnout na ako and you know after what happened between me and that cheater Calvin." I said letting out a deep breath.

I brought two swim wears in front of me. I was trying to decide which ones I'll take with me in Boracay.

"Oh, baka naman it's management's decision? You know...may upcoming pa kayong movie ni Calvin di ba? Baka pinag la- lie low muna kayo sa issue ng break up. Ikaw kasi nagbigay ka agad ng statement. Sana nag no comment ka na lang." Keira told me. Uminit na naman ang ulo ko whenever nababanggit si Calvin.

How could they expect me not to say a word when I saw them with my two eyes in bed at Calvin's apartment.

"Let's not talk about it Keira. Nakakasira ng mood." I dismissed her.

"Okay." I heard her say. "Okay siguro tong bakasyon for you. Promise, we will enjoy this trip. Tyaka may kasama tayo para mas masaya." she said excitedly.

"Sino pa sasama?" ibinaba ko ang isang damit na hawak ko. Kumunot ang noo ko.

"Si Tim." Keira said over the phone.

"Of course." I said rolling my eyes. Tim is an actor too. Mas matanda lang sa amin ng two years. Kasama namin siya dati sa isang variety show when we were younger. We never really hanged out kasi iba yung circle of friends niya and I can say that the guy is a little bit of a player.

Naging magkapareha sila ni Keira sa isang afternoon serye ngayon kaya naging malapit sila sa isa't isa. Ang sabi sa akin ni Keira ay nililigawan daw siya ni Tim. I tried to warn her but she told me she's determined to give that guy a chance.

Although I don't approve of him that much, I agreed on him pursuing Keira but I am also making a close watch on him without my best friend knowing.

"So magiging third wheel pala ako bukas ha Keira?" I asked her.

"Actually..." she trailed.

"Actually, ano?"

"He's tagging someone along. So that makes the four of us.If that's okay with you?" Keira asked waiting for an answer.
