Chapter 37 - The Lights

Mabilis ang takbo ng kotse. Sumasabay sa kasiyahan naming dalawa.

We are on our way back to my place. Jan decided he'll be staying with me for a while. Dadalhin na lang niya yung ilang gamit niya para sa condo ko. We talked about so many plans during the ride home but for now we just wanted to cuddle and sleep.

"Hey, will you slow down?" tinapik ko siya sa hita niya. Jan was driving so fast at kinakabahan ako pag mabilis ang takbo ng sinasakyan ko.

"Sorry Baby...medyo nagmamadali lang." he smiled broadly. Alam ko na kung bakit to nagmamadali.

Kinurot ko siya ng mahina sa hita
"Ikaw talaga. Parang di ka pa nakarami kagabi."

"Iba yun." he answered quickly before kissing my hand.

"Talaga naman." rolling my eyes at him and laughed.

"Di ba dapat lang naman gawin natin yun after--" he started to tease.

I gave up "Okay fine. You win. Again. Ano pa nga ba?" I giggled. Talo talaga ako pag ganitong usapan na. He's just persistent.

Mag tatanghali na when the rain started to pour. Mas lalong lumalakas habang papalapit kame sa Manila.

"Mukhang may bagyo yata Boo."

"Oo nga eh, sabi din sa weather forecast sa phone ko. Mukhang lalakas pa yan mamaya." he answered looking outside the window.

Ang dilim dilim sa labas kahit tanghali na. Malakas ang buhos kaya panay ikot ng wiper ng kotse.

"Hmm...bed weather indeed." I said.

"Yes, nakikisama sa akin ang panahon Baby." Jan said again with that look on his face. Maginoo talaga na medyo bastos.

I stuck my tongue at him and he just laughed while caressing his free hand on my thigh.

I took his hand and slowly traced something that he was wearing.

"Baby..." I heard Jan call after being silent.

"Hmm?"

"Mahal na mahal kita." he said. Jan's voice kind of broke while saying it. It caught me by surprise.

I peeked at him. "Boo...are you crying?" I saw the corners of his eyes glistened.

"Hindi. Masaya lang ako." he shook his head and pressed his fingers to stop his tears from falling.

I expelled a heavy breath "Me too. I am out of words. Sobrang saya ko Boo and mahal na mahal din kita." I held his hand again and intertwined them.

"Tinawagan mo na ba Mommy mo?" he asked after a while.

"Wala pa. Teka I'll call." Bumitaw ako sa kanya saglit. Malapit na rin naman kame sa Manila. Bukod don ay may sasabihin din kame sa kanya ni Jan.

"Yeah, let's tell them." he agreed as I dialed my mother's number.

She answered upon the second ring.

"Hello Mommy?" I greeted her happily.

"Yes. Pauwi na po. Opo nga eh naabutan kame ng ulan. Is Daddy with you?" I asked looking at Jan who was smiling as he listened to me.

Sabi ni Mommy nasa kwarto daw at aakyatin niya. May iba pa siyang sinasabi na hindi ko masayado maintindihan dahil nagiging choppy ang tawag. Probably because of the weather.
