Chapter 60 - The Rain

Nung gabing iyon binalikan ni Camilla ang mga bagay na iniwan ni Jan sa kanya. She stared at her wedding ring and imagined Jan's face that day.

He was thrilled and overflowing with joy the same feelings Camilla felt.

He was smiling from ear to ear while holding her hand close. Nasa loob sila ng pribadong opisina ni Mayor Punzalan, ang nagkasal sa kanila.

"Baby, you're nervous." Jan said.

"It feels weird." she laughed inwardly. May nga paruparo sa tiyan niya na hindi mapirmi. Parang nais niyang magsisigaw para matanggal ang kakaibang pakiramdam. Pakiramdam ng saya, kaba na naghalo na.

"Don't worry okay, everything will be alright. I'll take care of everything." he promised her.

"You always do." Camilla said resting her head over his chest.

"And always will." Jan kissed Camilla lightly on her lips and smiled. He looked at her as if he looked at her for the first time. Full of wonder, and fantasies.

Camilla held Jan's arms close. Feeling his every muscle around her small frame. The way his skin touched hers felt so new. As if he was really there. But Camilla knew he wasn't.

She must be dreaming to be with Jan again.

Camilla pulled away. She locked eyes with Jan. He smiled realizing Camilla must have learned she's just having a dream.

"You will be okay, right Baby?" he asked slowly cupping her face close.

In that instant, tears pooled her eyes.

Camilla cupped his face too. His skin was cold but his words and the way his eyes laid on her were warm.

Noon lang napansin ni Camilla kung gaano ka payapa ang mukha ni Jan. In all white and with a slight glow on his skin.

"Jan..." she caressed his face.

"My love for you won't end Camilla please believe that. The way I believe that I will always have a place in your heart. You won't forget me di ba?" matamis ang ngiti ni Jan sa kanya.

"Forget you? Never." Camilla shook her head crying.

Jan pressed their foreheads together and breathed slowly "Then that's enough. I'll be okay Baby. I'll be in peace." he promised.

Sa panaginip ay humahagulgol na si Camilla.

Camilla tried to hug Jan but her dream stopped right there. As soon as she opened her eyes again, she's back in her bed.

Tumingin siya sa bedside kung saan may nakadisplay na picture nila ni Jan. She took it and slowly traced Jan's face.

"Miss na kita." she whispered before the frame. "You always take care of everything. Even after you're gone you still do." Camilla smiled even with tears in her eyes.

Lastly, she brought his picture to her lips and kissed it like it was him. "I'll be okay."

Jan will always be that man for Camilla. Her first love, the man she wanted to be with for the rest of her life. No matter what, he will always own that place in her life.

Him being gone won't make her forget who he was to her and who he will always be.

She is at peace knowing that Jan will forever be part of who she was and whoever she will be. Jan is a part of her that will be left untouchable. She may love again but no one will make her forget him.

No one needs to forget anyone to move on. Moving on doesn't mean forgetting. Moving on is remembering everything but you'll still do just fine.
