It was the night of February 14th when he appeared in front of her dormitory. He called her name (it was supposed to be sweet, but she felt so ashamed of herself because he was shouting her whole name). She went out of her room and met the guy.
He was wearing a red polo shirt in her favorite shade, matched with shorts and boat shoes. He was holding on one hand a bouquet of flowers, only that it was made of paper.
"I knew you never liked real flowers..." he said, scratching the back of his head. "And I think I made a pretty good job on folding these."
"You did," she assured him. She was grinning the whole night as she was holding the flowers on one hand and his hand on the other.

It was the night of February 14th when he messaged her with a picture. Although sending pictures was a normal occurrence, she thought it had that same feeling all over again when they had just started their relationship.
The photo was him, wearing a long sleeved polo. He even had a necktie! He was holding a piece of paper. In it were the words: Hi, love. Happy Valentine's Day. See you soon.
How was this different when they had just greeted each other when they woke up? How was this different from any other picture he had sent?
Maybe it was his smile. Or the fact that he even had a placard with greetings just to greet her. Or the fact that he dressed up just to take a photo.
She screamed at a pillow and rolled on her bed. She couldn't think of anything else but him.

It was the night of February 14th when the both of them declared they were broke. They only had one-hundred and fifty pesos in their wallets. Their allowance will come tomorrow.
What mattered more for her was that they were together. They just walked around the park, observing people and nature. They shared stories about their friends, organization, and academics. They played their favorite songs in his phone, sometimes singing along with it.
"I'm sorry I couldn't bring you to a better date." His voice was almost like a whisper. "I promise this will be better the next time."
"No need for that, love." She held his hand and leaned closer to his forehead. "I had everything I need right next to me."

It was almost midnight of February 14th when he called just to ask her out on a midnight snack at Jollibee. They were still new on the relationship, so things like this surprised her so much.
She did not know what to act. But she was hungry and craving for chicken. She left her dormitory a few minutes later and met him, already waiting in a chair next to the window.
He was leaning on the window with his eyes closed. She sat next to him and observed him. He could have just waited until tomorrow to eat with her.
She ordered two meals for the both of them. When he heard the sound of the tray, he jumped on his seat. His eyes were wide open in shock.
"What--"
"I thought you plan on staying the night here."
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
She just shrugged.
"Why did you invite me here when you feel sleepy?"
"I just couldn't get enough of you," he answered. "And Jollibee is the perfect bait to get you out."
--
She never asked for anything more. She can see through his efforts. It was his way of showing his love for her. And it was effective.
It was the night of February 14th when she said yes at his question, "Will you stay with me until the end of our time?"

Okay. Just to tell you, I had a whole thing prepared for Valentine's day, but I couldn't finish it given my schedule. (BUT I WANT TO FINISH IT!!!) And writing this was really fast because I enjoyed it. Kasi kanina ko pa siya iniisip and I wanted to write it right away. So ayun! Enjoy! Happy Valentine's day!
