52. Sadie, Sadie (Season 2, episode 1)

Lorelai and Max are getting married! At least that's what we're told. Everyone is understandably concerned about Lorelai telling Luke about the engagement, but Lorelai can't see why. Lorelai and Emily share their true feelings after Sookie spills the beans about the wedding before Lorelai has a chance to tell her. It's a hard scene to watch, but it sets up many of the struggles they will face for the next six years of the show. Rory brings Dean to dinner and Richard is less than thrilled at her choice in men. It's the first time Rory and Richard have a fight and proves how much Richard cares about Rory and how highly he thinks of her. Its also an interesting contrast with what happens in Season 5 with Rory and the Huntzburgers. It's terrible when they do it to Rory but it shows the hypocrisy of such a society. Also, is it just me, or are those daisies multiplying? Its creepy if you ask me.

High points: The jewlery conversation, the Lorelai and Emily conversation, Max's sweetness, even though we know it will never last

Low points: It's kind of a forgettable episode and mostly exists to setup things to come.
