99. One's Got Class, the Other One Dyes (Season 3, episode 4)
It's nice that Lane finally gets an episode that's almost exclusively centered around her, but I just wish it was better than this one. She decides to dye her hair purple in an act of defiance against his mother. Rory is still dating Dean, but it's obvious she's totally into Jess. She even harasses his girlfriend in the beauty supply store. Lorelai gets yelled at in the street by Stars Hollow High mothers after their daughters bombard her with questions about getting pregnant at 16. Even though she tried to evade them, the girls were very persistent and apparently that means it's all Lorelai's fault.
High points: Lorelai and Luke's interaction about the high school speech is funny.
Low points: Rory is dragging Dean along behind her in her pursuit of Jess. It's pathetic.
